For the first time that I can recall I absolutely forgot the NC game was last night. That's how much interest it held for me.
Again, it's not about cheering for the team but trolling the fans afterwards about it. Those two are separate. I also posted above a statement he could've made on social media that wouldn't have gotten nowhere near the attention it received. That's the only point here honestly. Nobody cares that he likes Georgia football outside of a few die hard fans but when you start trolling the same fans that cheer you on, it creates an un needed distraction on both the team and his coach.
How did he troll fans? If he responded to fans giving him shit for it, then those fans are losers and deserved it.
We will agree to disagree on this one I see and that's fine honestly. The video that mist fans saw was him saying "I'm going to ride down University saying 'who let the Dawgs out" lol Again, be happy and celebrate your team but wasn't necessary to even go live in that moment and then say that on top of that even if it was directed at fans. If you play/coach sports for a major college or professional team when you go against the fans that cheer for you, it never ends up well. So don't put yourself in that situation and if you do, always lead with "I'm grateful for this opportunity such and such gave me.....yadda..yadda..yadda..." Why? Because it is an uneeded distraction. There is literally nothing else to say whether it is fair or unfair to the coach/player.
Lol yall need to get over that. Did he ride down university and do that? No, he just said it. Big deal. And on the video it sounds like it was in response to fans being typical twitter fans in his comments. Either way; who cares. Kid plays his ass off for our basketball team he can root for whatever football team he wants. Moral of the story: Gator fans peeved by this are being little snowflake babies. I wonder what the world would be like if people put as much effort into issues that actually affect peoples livelihood that they did towards sports fandom.
Lol.."there is literally nothing else to say either whether it's fair or unfair to the players." It never ends well and hence the need to put out an apology. Life ain't fair my friend and it was easy to see where this was headed from a mile away.
What does fairness have to do with anything here? How about just hold you and your fellow Gator fans accountable and stop being children over the an 18-22 year old kid celebrating his childhood football team winning a title.
Lol...I always said nobody has a problem with him cheering for the team he grew up loving but it seems like you have the problem my friend and are looking for an argument that really isn't there honestly. It's over and time to move on honestly after he sent out the statement in my book but if you want to keep harping on it, don't let me stop you for being upset about it.
The people who aren't bothered by it won't understand the outrage, but that doesn't make it any less valid. We're a program looking to build upward (in theory), and crap like this can only serve to work in one direction. Would love for him to have had that level of enthusiasm in either of the first two SEC games. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
This thread wouldn't exist if there wasn't an "argument". Also you replied to me... We can move on, but let the kids be. Our fans that have an issue with PF are wrong here.
It's valid. People don't want that crap; like I said, some people just won't understand that sentiment. Agree to disagree on the other part. If he plays hard, it will reflect better in the box score (as it has in the past). Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
completely disagree - it's a terrible look for Fleming. It doesn't matter who he grew up rooting for, he currently plays for the Florida Gators - forget the fans, he owes his team, coach and university more respect than that.
Why is this so hard for some to understand. Fans have repeated ad nauseum that they didn’t mind him being happy his childhood team won the championship, but him creating a video showing him in the gear of a hated rival, celebrating for all Gator fans to see just wasn’t the right thing to do. He put Gator fans in the friend zone, and while being friend zoned might not be a problem for some, others just aren’t going to have it. You don’t friend zone a Gator. Fans were surprised and rightfully disappointed in Fleming’s actions, and I seriously doubt he’ll have many fans after this, but we’ll move on and cheer louder for someone else.
I don’t think taunting our Gator Nation on University street is a way to endure yourself to the football program that has gone through hell the last 13 months, or our fans who are renowned for being passionate for Gator football. Words matter and he wants to go down dishing us, even if it’s in jest, ok, just look at the Auburn basketball game Saturday. Not a good look for a physically talented basketball player. Hopefully he can do better than that against LSU because Florida fans will have their eyes on him! If some how, he plays we’ll against LSU, they let him talk after the game, I hope he talks about trying to help his team going forward and his love for the University of Florida giving him a chance to show out in a top basketball league to help him get to the NBA! Wouldn’t hurt to let the Gator Nation know that his words hurt people around him and he is sorry. Yes I know he already posted an apology but do it in front of a live audience. Be a man and stand up, don’t hide behind a computer. I tell my kids, social media can help you or it can hurt you. Always be respectful because your words will be seen by the world. He wanted attention, well he is getting it!
This is why I have a hard time caring about these kids. They are not emotionally invested, so neither am I. It's just a meal ticket for most of them. They don't bleed O&B, and why should they the way they are able to transfer now makes their choice of college not that important any longer. I am not hating on this kid, as it is now set up for them to treat 4 year colleges like JUCO's. Does anyone even know that Santa Fe CC are the Saints? No, no one cares.
Who knows maybe our fans will taunt him if he airballs a shot tonight. They might mistake him for the other team. SMH
