If COVID long haul isn't a thing, maybe you should advice places like Johns Hopkin's Medical to take their page down dedicated it! I'm sure they will bow to your expertise.

But for those of us who trust actual medical professional, as the Hopkin's link states, most people only experience any symptoms for no more than 2 weeks after recovery. Again, not unusual for many upper respiratory viruses.

It also looks as if there is a psychosomatic element. As your link states, half the people claiming to have long COVID never tested positive for the virus! But does that mean long COVID doesn't exist for those who did have the virus? Of course not. Just because there are some people who never had the virus are having symptoms, doesn't mean those who did have the virus are making everything up as well. The two are mutually exclusive.

As for COVID caused deaths, here are the CDC's guidelines. Haven't changed since Mar, 2020. If you want more, here's a paper, from 2015, pre-COVID, explaining why 2/3 of all death certificates have more than one cause listed. And if you still think COVID is causing many of these deaths, 2020 was listed as the deadliest year in the US, except for possibly 2021. Numbers still aren't finalized. We are a generally unhealthy society, and COVID tends to prey on the the elderly and in general, the unhealthy. But many of the unhealthy people likely would still be living had COVID never appeared. Which is why there were excess deaths over expected the last two years.

I didn't write the study showing "long covid" is garbage. Blame the French. Tough luck sport. It's ok, you were wrong on just about everything else, so most see you being wrong on this as nothing new. Fear mongers gonna fear monger. Maybe next time...

    From the study
" Findings suggest that persistent physical symptoms after COVID-19 infection should not be automatically ascribed to SARS-CoV-2; a complete medical evaluation may be needed to prevent erroneously attributing symptoms to the virus"

As my sister has had a full evaluation & is continuing to be monitored, considering the physical changes to her lungs verified by imaging, pulmonary function studies, etc, I respectfully disagree that it's all in the mind.

Here is another Covid preventative the MSM won't tell you about. Its all about Big Pharma and the Benjamins.

Anti-Vax Leader to Followers: Drink Your Pee to Fight COVID

Anti-COVID-19 “Vaccine Police” leader Christopher Key has a new quarter-baked conspiracy theory for his anti-vax followers to use to cure themselves of COVID-19: Drink their own urine. “The antidote that we have seen now, and we have tons and tons of research, is urine therapy. OK, and I know to a lot of you this sounds crazy, but guys, God’s given us everything we need,” Key said in a video posted over the weekend on his Telegram account after being released from jail over a trespassing charge. “This has been around for centuries,” he added. “When I tell you this, please take it with a grain of salt,” the anti-vaccine advocate warned while saying people might now think he is “cray cray.” “Now drink urine!” he continued. “This vaccine is the worst bioweapon I have ever seen,” he concluded. “I drink my own urine!” Reached for comment by The Daily Beast on Sunday night, Key doubled down on what he calls “urine therapy” and railed against “foolish” people who took the COVID-19 vaccine, which is safe and effective.

Again, one study stating 50% of people who had long symptoms never had COVID doesn't prove COVID long haul doesn't exist. But there are studies that show long haul does exist.

Again, it's not uncommon for something like a cough to persist after a cold. It's not like these are all psychosomatic. But one study from France and all COVID long haul is psychosomatic? Hilarious.

This is all I’ll say on papers and studies:

    1. Are they published? By “published” I mean detailed explain to their methodology, sampling, assumptions, etc?
    2. Is it peer-reviewed before publishing or in-process? Is it being done in a valid medical journal and/or professional organization?
    3. Important: if published, is it being cited by other experts?
    4. If the author(s) present something novel, has their conclusion been independently confirmed using similar methodology, etc?
I can think of a paper I co-authored which was demonstrated false because of sample bias on our part. It sucked at first, but it was still a conclusion, once we amended the paper. That’s a good thing.

    You got a disagree…LOL!

It is amazing how people refuse to acknowledge what the data has been showing us. It is criminal how the cdc has withheld this information in order to push their agenda and narrative.

We should have focused the new drugs for the elderly and those in high risk categories. Then focused more on therapeutics (really what these new “vaccines” are…onto booster number X in a year) and drugs that might actually work as a vaccine and have a large healthy population control group.

But we are where we are. Need to look forward. Oh and the 4 comorbidities are going to be heavily tied to being overweight (same for those with 2 comorbidities which will be even more of the population).

Certainly the hundreds of thousands of dead Americans(excess) are relieved to know that they are somehow less dead. Sorry but an earlier death from covid with comorbidities vs an earlier death (25% as suggested) without comorbidities doesn't mitigate the death being caused by covid.

All true...but on the flip side, someone in the hospital for a neck fusion who is inpatient and happens to test positive for Covid isn't really a Covid hospitalization. There's always issues with numbers both directions to a degree, to be honest.

There isn’t a study that uses a control that shows a significant difference. I proved it. It’s ok. “Long covid” doesn’t exist. Sorry to ruin your fear mongering Monday.

Immunity wears off. It makes sense to get vaccinated even if you already had covid, especially if it's been a while since you had it. There is no downside to getting the vaccine. It's just common sense. Healthcare workers who don't have enough sense to get vaccinated should probably be in a different line of work anyway.

    Okay?

Not sure what your point is. We had a terrible disease. And you misheard what Walensky said. She said “at least” 4 comorbidities. How much you wan to bet that a majority of that 25% had “at least” 2 comorbidities?

Every death is tragic. Whether it be from Covid/old age/heart attack/car accident/flu/common cold/etc.

Our public health officials have been an abject disaster on this. But we are where we are and need to look forward.

I disagreed because the narrative has always been that those with comorbidities were always the most at risk.

You're right. There isn't one study. The National Library of Medicine cited 11 studies that met their criteria about long haul COVID. The link says it best.

Study findings demonstrate that COVID-19 survivors can experience persistent symptoms after recovering from their initial illness, especially among previously hospitalized persons. The majority of symptoms reported were fatigue, shortness of breath, cough, and sleep disorders. Mental conditions, such as depression and anxiety disorders, were also reported. In conclusion, this study showed that COVID-19 survivors can experience persistent symptoms after recovering from their initial illness. Therefore, there is a need for a long-term follow-up of COVID-19 patients and rehabilitation services for survivors.

Immunity wear off? Do you even understand what you are saying? NI is vastly superior and longer lasting than vaccine alone. There is downside to get the vaccine if you are teen boy for sure. Very small risk for adults I agree. I’m fine with companies having their own mandates. Just think it’s next level dumb to be short staffed and sending covid+ staff to work when there are plenty of NI nurses ready to help out that aren’t sick.
