He is a backup point guard who has been forced to play starting minutes. This team peaked in November with his game winning shot. Coach White and his assistants (have any left or been released in the last 24 hours?) need to do a better job of recruiting. Or maybe Coach White's plan is to just scour the portal for anyone who will come here
I was very surprised he didn’t bring in a true PG after last season, but a balanced roster has never been White’s strong suit..
He’s really just not a PG at all. Mann wasn’t a pure PG either, but he had more natural talent as a scorer. Appleby is more of a scrapper. He can sometimes get it done, but it feels like he has to work harder and is more prone to just kick it off his foot or do something crazy. He’s probably our best guard, but really at this point that doesn’t say much. We look like we have mid-major guards, and that’s because we do lol. Every game that goes by this is apparent. I can’t figure out how the heck we managed to beat FSU and OSU. I guess since these guys were mostly all brand new as transfers, they didn’t have enough practices under their belt for White to ruin them. Now they do.
FSU? They stink. OSU? Just a great win at a neutral site. Would you have any confidence we would even keep it within 10, much less win if we played again?
