To the OP, I think it is obvious that no one is going to know the long-term effects of C-19, or anything for that matter, until we have...a long term to study it. I think the idea of genetic damage is compelling but I am optimistic that we will have mitigating actions for just about everything.

And yes, it mainly means we get to fight the symptoms rather than eliminating the causes. And if all we do is worry about what is going to happen in the future then we may as well live under our beds.

When I first got Covid in Sep 2020, after the initial symptoms subsided, it morphed into sinus issues that keep coming back every other week or so.

Feels like I am getting sick for a day and then goes away.

Purely anecdotal but my sister who is otherwise healthy still has decreased exercise tolerance/has lower O2 sats than before. She was in the hospital for a week but no intubation, went home on oxygen for about another month.

My parents have health issues (mom is an active smoker), & they don't have any effects nor were in the hospital.

All 3 infected prior to the vaccines coming out.

Anecdotal, but I have two close friends who have both suffered cognitive damage. One reported some improvement that appears to be asymptotic: his memory is still questionable and can't play chess worth a crap. For context: the guy was a state champion in high school. The other still has substantial fatigue and "fog" issues. Both have been COVID free for over a year.

I am a bit chilled by reports of renal damage, though I haven't read up enough on them to comment beyond that. Posting a link to a paper for anyone interested (and so that I won't lose it for post-work ingestion): Kidney Outcomes in Long COVID

Fairness: if "long last side effects" include "substantial madness and existential dread due to science deniers resulting from an extended average lifespan," then he's not wrong?

So far the long lasting effects of the vaccine is a longer life. Okay I’ve given you the benefit of the doubt long enough, and it’s time the crazy train left with you on it.

That's how it went of me, but for only about 7 days... But it never really hit me that badly.

Lol at that feeble attempt at a personal insult.

Left where? I'm not going anywhere...Truman.

You have nothing to add here, you never post anything from credible sources, and you insult everyone that you disagree with. I posted CDC web page information and you still don't comprehend what it says...

You com e out with interesting takes on the long term effects of getting a deadly flu and dismiss the EXPERIMENTAL mRNA gene therapy "vaccine" that the big pharmaceutical companies are pimping out like candy on Halloween. I'll be you aren't even vaccinated..

LMFAO! Newbie... acting like he owns the place.

We've been over this. I proved "long covid" is nothing more than psychological except for loss of smell. Fear mongers gonna fear monger.

Oh. I know. My alcohol consumption noticably increased as the pandemic wore on. I feel for the medical community, though. Having randos who got their degree at the "College of Hard Knocks, University of Life" idiotsplain my field to me is/was tiring. I love the Internet. I love access to untold amount of information. I just wish it was better childproofed.

I disagree with your assessment of the Covid vaccine vs the flu shot. Your next statement about supplements makes no sense - one has nothing to do with the other. Either the vaccine is safe for pregnancy or it isn’t. The status of other supplements is irrelevant.

Urine has ammonia and mixing bleach with ammonia is very dangerous. But it might kill the Covid!!

Of course the narrative is changing. They milked Jan 6th for all they could so now they realize they are going to get destroyed in the mid-terms. They know keeping kids locked out of in person learning is a death sentence for any politician in a close race. I mean they can't say Biden is shutting down the virus and they know blaming the unvaccinated won't work anymore except for the looney lefties.

Social media is a disaster. Right up there in it’s societal destructiveness with the opioid or meth epidemic (or any number of destructive addictions).

In this country we perhaps don’t have too many “deaths” driven by this addiction, but several genocides have used social media misinformation as a tool. So that it could cause more pervasive death and political violence even in this country is not out of the question. It’s certainly played a role in some # of unnecessary COVID deaths already.

I swore I’d never join Twitter, until around Mar 2020, at which point I discovered voices other than “You could get this and DIE!” and body bags thrown on freezer truck three nights in a row and same distraught doctor and a healthy thirty-year old who collapsed and wound up on a ventilator.
