Insider on another Gator site calling for White’s firing

Haven't we had problems with shooters in this offense before though? Guys like Hudson, Allen and others seem to regress here so is it the coaching or the system that contributes to this? Just a question because as stated ad nauseam we have the same issues year after year with one common denominator. It can't always be the talent can it?

 

Absurd take at this point. "People" are also complaining about Mullen being let go still. "People" are also complaining about Napier being hired. Pretty small minority of people.

Can't please everybody but most people wanted to see White succeed. I guess I'll throw this in the red herring pile of excuses for the lack of progression rational fans want to see.

Wait! According to some we don't have basketball fans and Gainesville doesn't care about basketball so where are these people that wanted White fired from the first missed shot if they're too apathetic to care to begin with?

I follow all the time. There was a minority contingent who were never happy about the hire. Most like myself liked the guy's passion, character, youth etc

I have gone from a staunch hopeful supporter to less than optimistic to ready to move on barring some unprecedented and sustained improvement this year.

Edit: the last two steps in my evolution have occurred over the past 1 and a half years. KJ got him a pass but this is year 7 and he hasn't established any identity as a program.

 

I never stated in the post that the majority wanted him fired. There have been quite a few that have for several years now though. Some I have blocked because all they post is about how bad of a coach he is and never about the game or players. Many don't post until things go south and the Gators fall behind. I am very disappointed in the last few games. Not sure if this team has enough to turn it around either. As far as firing Mike White I see no reason to even go into that right now. There will be plenty of time for that after the season.

 

Fair enough and I agree. I have to add that I supported Mullen and even Mac for a little longer than some and some were clamoring from the get go. I thought they were know it all fans who were off base. Hindsight says they were right even if they were annoying and beat a dead horse too often.

Maybe they were right the whole time and are just frustrated the "obvious" to them was ignored. I don't know. I get it though. The negativity is obnoxious.

 

Does paying a few bucks a month to a sport site carry that much weight?

 

To make the sweet 16 u have to actually make the tournament. Are we going to be selected? I like Coach W and hope he makes it , but without a guard ??

 

If memory serves me, Lunardi has us as the 7th SEC team in the tournament as a 10 seed.

 

I totally agree. It's really up in the air right now. Imo, LSU game might decide it. Crazy to say that this early in the season, but 0-3 in the SEC w/ 2 home losses seems like it could be too big of a hole to climb out of. Especially after already losing to Tx So and Maryland, who's now 0-4 in the Big Ten.

This 3 guard lineup isn’t working, so how about a lineup of:

Appleby
Flemming
Duruji
Felder
Caselton

 

And other fans that virtue signal that they are a cut above those that they have labeled as having unrealistic expectations.

I was missing yours! My bad and I apologize. It is fascinating that some on here (and Pat Dooley) think Gator fans are worse than other fan bases with big sports programs. There is zero difference- just visit other teams boards.

 

We are staring an 0-3 SEC start in the face. LSU is 14-1 or 15-1
coming up and from watching them pound TN, it does not look like a game we will win.

 

Actually, the recent trend is that we do win one or two of these type games each year.
