Strictly NIT and at best quarterfinals there. Oats in three seasons has already won an SEC Championship and tournament for Alabama with arguably a less desirable marketing portfolio when you consider that our players play on a national championship wooden floor, and over the past 15-20 years our program (no thanks to White) dwarfs Alabama's draft picks into the NBA. Somehow despite all of the recruiting advantages, White has become a transfer portal savant who seems to be only to coach players who have developed rather than develop them himself with his staff. Apparently, the top brass is comfortable with this outcome of backing into the NCAA tournament year after year. Don't get me wrong, I like the talent, and I like Mike White and his staff, I also like pistachio muffins but I don't eat them because they are not good for me. Liking is not the sole criteria for retaining or consuming a product or service. When measuring all of the other components that come into play, and given the level of depth and talent that this team has, this should be White's last year to demonstrate that he can cut it as head coach of Florida. Anything less than a serious challenge at the outright SEC Championship, tournament championship (like reaching the finals), or reaching the second week of the NCAA tournament would in my estimation, warrant termination.
I have lost interest completely. I don't even post on game threads anymore because it's all a repeat. I suspect MW wins enough games to get into the dance and for the AD that's enough to keep his job even though we all know UF is not competitive there nor will it ever be under MW. Other than that one year with BD's players, MW's teams have been far from anything close to championship level team. I agree with everyone, MW is a stand up guy, but that's not enough to keep the status quo imo. I salute all the diehard fans that continue to suffer though the season.
I have also greatly reduced my level of engagement. I no longer watch the games because they aren’t fun to watch. I do come here and read NBN after the games so I still care but I do not expect we will win against quality competition (I did expect we would beat Texas Southern though). I am puzzled, as many are, by the lineups and substitutions that Mike White doesn’t do. There is a lot of discussion on this board about metrics and advanced metrics. Does anyone know if there is a member of the coaching staff who tracks these things? At least reads Eric’s articles? We often seem clueless.
I kept hearing the announcer saying we played well in the first half. I know we scored, but I thought we played…meh… The only thing was Bama played worse….
Our starters shot 15 of 33 which needs to get better. CC carried them with 19 pts and 7 boards. All of our starters combined for 15 TOs.
Agree. It’s pointless to watch or care. CMW has had all the chances to really being a consequential coach. Long season ahead.

With our schedule, we are looking at 3 or 4 wins in the next twelve, and those aren’t gimme’s. I don’t know why we can’t shoot, but it seems we could try something different than forcing the ball to CC. He and Applybee both had 4 turnovers, 8 extra chances for Alabama to score. Just two players. Not winning basketball and I know Alabama was tough. Just wait for Auburn.....
He definitely won’t get fired during the season but SS needs to be using this time to be looking for a new coach.
White is a poor floor coach. Although enough said, I find it extremely frustrating when the opponent goes on a long run and White fails to use a time out to recompose the team and cool down the other squad. He just does not have it in my unexpert opinion. I am glad I no longer have my season tickets. Too frustrating to watch...This team does not deserve the poor coaching.
I just wish the offense was a bit more disciplined and not so turnover prone. It's killing their chances.
