Two decades ago I thought about trying on as a kicker. UF’s kicking situation wasn’t good in 2002 (if the year is correct) and a friend of mine and I thought about it. In practice I could make a 45 yarder. Of course no one was watching me and no one was trying to block it!!!! And now kickers are hitting 50+ with ease.

 

Montana to Clark in the back of the end zone. 1982 playoffs. Famous catch. I was a little young for the Jackie Smith drop.

randy russell… former signee who hd to medically retire before he ever got to play for the O&B. Stuck around the program anyway, which was a nice gesture by the prior regime. Sounds like CBN is putting him on staff now in some capacity.

 

Yup - I remember those days. Luckily, after the 3rd NFC Championship loss, I got smart and became a Giants fans. They went 3-12-1 that year but they had Joe Morris, from Syracuse. I was a big fan.

Walls was my favorite, outside of TD, of course. Dennis Thurman, Doug Cosbie, DD Lewis,, the list goes on.

 

I stuck with them through the Emmitt years and then gave up on pro football altogether after that.
