White is in so far over his head. The proof? When you make changes to the offense and the roster, and it still looks the same, that means he’s the one with the problem. Whatever it is that he lacks as a coach (which is hard to determine unless you are part of the program), translates to inconsistent play and player regression, every single year. Good dude, but gosh I hope they find someone that knows what they’re doing.
Not sure what we are being patient for. We have a veteran team, that won't even vaguely resemble this team next year, and that was better at the beginning of the year (relatively) than they are now. It just is Mike White basketball.
Hoping that coach White can concentrate on improving on that with the kids. Has to, imperative, we have no chance at success in n the SEC turning the ball over 15 times a game much less 20. IMO the reason the offense became so disjointed 2nd half was due to t.o. Destroyed the offensive flow and gave BAMA a dozen or more points on the cheap. If it's not solved we are in big trouble.
This is the type of team that White has wanted since taking the job here. He likes defensive minded experienced players that have the athleticism to get up and down the floor. Had them playing well early but as soon as they took that first loss, they haven’t looked the same and they will continue to look like what we are currently seeing for the remainder of the season. Don’t have to be Nostradamus to see it unfolding. Wash, rinse, repeat. White is doing the best he can, he just isn’t capable of doing better at this point in his career. The question is, is our AD gonna settle for Florida basketball to become a middle of the pack conference team or are we gonna get someone that will have us contending with Kentucky most seasons for conference championships like we previously had?
My patience is wearing very thin with MW. In the past, I've made excuses and supported him. That is getting harder and harder to do. After 7 years, this is the season for him, sink or swim. I hope he turns things around before March. If we are bubbalicious again, he definitely needs to go.
I’m not even sure that “40 extra possessions” covers the whole story, as we also had some insanely stupid 1 on 3 fast breaks that might not have been “turnovers” but resulted in effectively worthless/hopeless shots. Felt like there were at least 5 truly pathetic “drives” into no man’s land where our guys were just hoping a prayer was answered and they’d get a foul. Throw those in as wasted possessions, and it’s more like 45 extra possessions for Bama. How was this game even close lol!!!???
I'm not sure that Kentucky is the bellwether program in the SEC anymore. But I agree with your premise.

When my wife started asking me "WTH is wrong with you? Why are you cussing/swearing in front of the TV?" I had to stop. Not worth the aggravation or going to the hospital with a heart attack. Does it make me a bad fan? I just know I am done with CMW. He's done the best he can for UF basketball after Billy left. IMHO, this is his ceiling. He will not be able to take the gators over the hump.
Yes...at one point we started trying to force the ball inside to Castleton before he was set or didn't have good position. We could almost see that White had directed to "get it inside"...because we were struggling to shoot. Solid advice..but when a player is trying to do something regardless of what he's seeing..turnover's happen. I hope Appleby will remember these types of situations and learn. Alabama's defensive pressure was on a different level than most games this season...so you can see how we fell into the trap. Just need to adjust. The Refs allowed a lot of arm slapping and checking on D..just have to adjust.
On a completely different note: this picture captures that annoying beach scene with the logos that they put up during the game. I have no idea why they put it up during the game (they do it for football as well). Everybody in the stadium knows the two teams that are playing. During the game, show stats (or replays) instead of that screen EVERY TIME. Not to be offensive, but I'd rather them fix that than flip the cameras. But that's more of an in-game experience vs. on-TV experience issue. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Hello 33 - I really hope you are incorrect but alas I fear you may be on point. Seems inevitable that we will start SEC play 0 - 2. I worry of a "collapse" similar to the football squad. Having said that CMW's teams do have a tendency to "bounce back" so hopefully the team can rebound. But Tyree and Co. HAVE to cut down the turnovers or it will be a long season.
