Here is a list of staffed beds in the US a year apart. Some interesting data in here:

Vaccine Ontario data now suggesting a 3rd dose (booster) has Vax effectiveness of 37% for Omicron. Interesting since most boosters are recent and should be at max protection.

    https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.12.30.21268565v1.full.pdf

"Two doses of COVID-19 vaccines are unlikely to protect against infection by Omicron. A third dose provides some protection in the immediate term, but substantially less than against Delta. Further research is needed to examine protection against severe outcomes."

The study comparison is between fully vaccinated, booster vaccinated, and unvaccinated. IMO, lumping together all unvaccinated people is a useless metric. When studies start separating unvaccinated people into never having had covid and unvaccinated who have recovered from covid, then you will get meaningful statistics, as per my post #32595

This is true, and if you don't correct for this it starts making the vaccine look less effective compared to unvaccinated.

Welp, my daughter wife and I all tested positive. Again. Had the OG back in February.

My daughter is the only one with symptoms - still mild thankfully. What a colossal pain in the ass.

Looks like nothing works for this one. At least with regards to preventing transmission.

It doesn't matter what caused the heart attack, the point is that the incidence rate has been increasing over the years and pointing out that 4 professionals died in a short time span is nothing more than an outlier and there is no evidence that it was caused by any specific mechanism.
More young footballers dying of heart problems than thought, FA study finds

Perhaps he is pissed but also equally appreciative that the symptoms are mild and not severe, nor cause for hospitalization. Hope that all goes well and the family quickly heals.

so it was incorrect to assume getting all the shots and wearing a mask would help, then why bother?

There is no politics being played here. What you posted was allocations PER WEEK. Florida has gotten 30,000 allocations the past 3 weeks.

Why bother getting vaccinated? Because you greatly reduce the risk of severe infection, hospitalization and death.

Well, two years into the pandemic and we are at the same place, more or less. The only good news is that a vaccine was developed that appears to protect against serious illness from the virus (unless it doesn't) and a little more than half of the country (USA) has opted to receive the vaccine (jab, whatever). And the treatment options have improved.

As I stated almost two years ago, the perception that human's are intelligent enough to be able to control virulent diseases in a lab setting or the stupidity in eating bush meat/oriental medicine still is valid. Now that this virus is freely circulating the globe there is no real hope (IMHO) that it will ever be "controlled". Just imagine if (when) it mutates into a more transmittable and more potent strain...and it will happen. Mother nature is a real bitch and it will be impossible to put Covid back into Pandora's box.

with my FiL & MiL just getting over covid (thanks to me & my family who gave it to them), I personally know 5 people who's doctors believe the vax saved their lives.

    it does help.

medical professionals all over constantly talk how their Covid icu patients are vast majority, not vaxxed.

No one said it’s a guarantee. Think of wearing seatbelts as an analogy.
