Arizona was always Cowling’s destination. Was never coming to Florida. Has a child and wanted to closer to his home in AZ Fox family reasons

Unless CBN convinces him to move to the slot.

He'd be a stop-gap there as well. Not enough speed or suddenness to make a difference.

It boils down to does he want to finish out with his current teammates as an average WR, or finish at a lower tier school as an average QB. Seems like a good kid, so hopefully he takes the path that is most satisfying for him and gets a useful degree in the process.

There have been many slot receivers who aren’t particularly fast but quick and have made a living in the NFL. Wes Walker, Charlie joiner, Steve Largent. I believe that Largent and Joiner both held all time reception records at one time I believe..

But EJ hasn't shown that suddenness or start/stop athleticism at UF that top slot receivers show. He would of been much more effective of a runner this year if he had that skill set.

No doubt he could contribute as slot WR at UF, but it wouldn't be at a level that worries DCs or piques the interest of the NFL. Most guys simply aren't built to move to the next level. It just is what it is in this case.

I mean seriously where else can he go as a QB where the competition is as wide open as here? Also, he knows his competition (besides Miller) intimately.

The guys I mentioned don’t scare anyone yet they made a ton of catches in the nfl. Nobody gameplaned for them but they moved the sticks and set records. EJ was pretty affective running the ball this year. He does seem to het that extra yard too, doesn’t take the hit. I’m not predicting he’s the next Largent but if he’s going to make a living , that may be where he could do it. I love the Sam Mills of the nfl that are said to be too little, too slow or whatever.

Instant gratification a little I guess but Saban and Meyer didn’t win right off the bat either. They just moved around and built teams until they kinda arrived

Meyer won pretty quickly. Saban did alright at Michigan state and then won the natty at LSU.
