Please provide evidence of a government official claiming you can't get covid if vaccinated.

    Good lord.

The efficacy of the various vaccines were well documented prior to general public availability. None were 100%.

    Good lord.

Biden should not have said that. At the time the probability of getting it while vaxed was low but did exist.

Here is the issue- there are lots of criticisms of public officials for saying things that are at some level are wrong. Then there is also criticism of public officials for making qualified and equivovated statements that sound like gobbledy gook. You can't win either way. For those that have an agenda against the public official there will always be fodder.

There is a difference in saying things that are made in good faith but may not be 100% true and intentionally spreading disinformation and lies like Trump did.

Good points. I have been blasted for my position on masks. But they are just pointless in the public setting. People do not wear the correct ones and they are not worn properly. Add to it...human behavior. You get these public health officials telling people how they work so well and then people go put themselves in high risk situations becasue they believe the thing works.

If one wants to wear a N95 around properly...they are doing something assuming they are sick. But our public health officials are engaged in political theater and virtue signaling. I use to laugh at people in the car wearing a mask. Still do if they are by themself. But if they are with someone...it makes more sense to wear it in a car than in an open spaced public setting if it is a proper mask being worn correctly.

"During the same public appearance, Biden also stated, accurately, that vaccinated people are less likely to catch the virus than unvaccinated people and, if they do catch it, are less likely to get sick".

Not much of a gotcha moment.

Did Biden Say You Won't Get COVID if You're Vaccinated?

I should also add that it's has NEVER been the official position of the health agencies or the administration that vaccines are 100% effective. It would be so easily disproved that it would be political suicide.

You mean chestnuts like these? I must have missed the impeachment proceedings!

“You get better and then you’re immune.”
“85 percent of the people wearing masks catch covid”
America is “rounding the corner” and “rounding the final turn” of the pandemic.
Anybody that needs a test, gets a test. We—they’re there. They have the tests. And the tests are beautiful
If somebody wants to be tested right now, they’ll be able to be tested.”
The coronavirus is “going to go away without a vaccine … and we’re not going to see it again, hopefully, after a period of time.”

    and so many more!!

First time in history we are blaming about 30% of the population (likely most of that in rural areas) on the failure of a vaccine to stop the spread of a virus and end the pandemic.

I can’t have a reasonable conversation with someone who thinks this way.

So at minimum, not a very clear message. Many people here blew up on trump for his lack of messaging during his pandemic briefings.

But hey as long as it’s your guy, it’s ok. I think this is why the list of Independents grow. Both sides are full of it.

How many other pandemics have had 30% of the population refuse to take a vaccine?

30% didn't cause it. They did make it worse than it otherwise had to be.

The vaccination didn't fail. There has never been and likely never will be a vaccine that will completely and permanently eradicate fast acting viruses like covid or flu. Vaccines antibody reactions aren't permanent, and long term Tcell /memory cell defenses require several days to kick in.

Preprint showing myocarditis after vaccine is much higher than previously stated. I mean who didn’t see this coming?

Risk of Myopericarditis following COVID-19 mRNA vaccination in a Large Integrated Health System: A Comparison of Completeness and Timeliness of Two Methods

“We identified additional valid cases of myopericarditis following an mRNA vaccination that would be missed by the VSDs search algorithm…The true incidence of myopericarditis is markedly higher than the incidence reported to US advisory committees.”

It is not dumb luck. Many have Natural Immunity (better protection than these new drugs). Many are young and healthy. These two groups are not at high risk. So wanting to wait for long term data to see if there are ago immune issues that arise in the future or just not wanting to take a new drug are completely reasonable risk assessments. They might not be what your risk tolerance is. But the data shows us there is no need to just booster up over and over. Especially in light of omicron right now.

The funny (well not really) thing is that some on here claim that Trump supporters will do anything he says. Yet by in large many of those choosing to wait for a vaccine that works better and/or has longer term data to support its safety….are Trump supporters and not listening to him. Trump says get the vaccine. The difference is Trump respects another’s decision unlike Biden.

An additional 14 patients! All of whom had mild cases. Meanwhile, COVID pediatric hospitalizations continue to rise.

Risk is about 1 in 10,000 according to your link.

Also your 95 per million vaccine is much less than 450 per million from actual covid and 500 covid hospitalizations per million.

Among those who received a second dose of vaccine (n=146,785), we estimated a risk as 95.4 cases of myopericarditis per million second doses administered (95% CI, 52.1 to 160.0)

Myocarditis and COVID-19: Get the Facts | Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Recent data provided by the CDC suggests that among 100,000 vaccinated adolescent males, only about four to seven would be expected to develop post-vaccine myocarditis. If this group was not vaccinated, however, more than 5,500 would be likely to become infected with COVID-19 over a period of three months, with infections resulting in 500 hospitalizations, potential MIS-C, myocarditis and possible death. Recent surges in infections would only increase these risks in unvaccinated individuals.

Risk of Myocarditis from COVID-19 Infection in People Under Age 20: A Population-Based Analysis

Conclusions Myocarditis (or pericarditis or myopericarditis) from primary COVID19 infection occurred at a rate as high as 450 per million in young males. Young males infected with the virus are up 6 times more likely to develop myocarditis as those who have received the vaccine.

What you quoted is wrong. That’s what they found from the data. Children unless they have underlying conditions should never get the vaccine. That is shown by the data. The risk for 2-3 months of protection only isn’t worth it. Especially if you have boys. Many at the fda feel the same way and voiced their concerns yet unfortunately the fda turned political. The cdc had turned long ago but most know that.
