I took one of the home tests and it was negative. I didn't report it to anyone.

I'm not sure that your interpretation is fully accurate about what the CDC recommended, noting that their recommendations are in part softened a little (e.g. isolation time cut in half) due to perceptions about what Americans can tolerate.

The recommendation still calls for asymptomatic positive covid persons to isolate. But yes, they are strongly recommending N95s given how much more transmissible omicron is. It doesn't seem to me that the CDC suddenly adopted conspiracy theories. :)

Sadly, we still have a large number of people avoiding getting vaccinated and they are a main driver of hospitalization and death numbers. Just really baffling to me that we have these weapons to fight and suddenly people are against weapons, lol.

I'm not aware of any state that has reporting requirements for self-administered tests. Maybe there are some, but it doesn't seem like something that could even be enforced and probably not worth the effort.

    Here you go

Also, N95 should be the only thing people have on if they are looking for any real protection against an airborne virus.

Gotta love how the new guidelines were framed as having been "quietly revised" when the CDC literally issued a press release about it and Walenksy was interviewed in the media about it (both in the links I provided). It's deceptive to suggest that the CDC was trying to do something with stealth, which only feeds into even more conspiracy mongering (not saying you did it, but disclose.tv did in their tweet).

Agree about N95s, though it's tough enough to get people to even where a cloth mask or do much of anything at all besides disbelieve that covid is a danger.

i guess all the covid sites might as well shutdown if no one knows the real numbers, for all we know the death % may be .5% or less if there are massive negative test numbers out there unreported, right now it is at about 1.52%

The first set was public, the second was not so public aka quite. Her press release and interview was the first release regarding the 5 days. It was the second released regarding asymptomatic or even if symptoms are resolving that was not so public.

Ya I get the whole N95 thing. We needed to save them for our healthcare workers. My problem is, tell everyone that even cloth mask work since it’s better than nothing which gave people a false sense of security. They don’t work at all and should have never been pushed and suggested.

Does anyone really know how reliable these home tests Are? Not sure I would risk my health on something you can get over the counter and risk doing the tests right, not being done by professionals

Oh I see now. On the same day the CDC made the edit (Dec 29), adding persons whose "symptoms are resolving," Walensky (and Fauci) spoke to the media, saying as much. Tthere was nothing quiet about it, rather it was quite the opposite.

The CDC changes the mask guidance because of the nature of Omicron. And surgical or n95 or kn95 masks were always better than cloth. And anyone with a brain knows. Cloth is still a better option than no mask at all. But it was never recommended as equal to medical grade masks. Medical grade masks are more plentiful now.

You didn’t get vaccinated did you? You need to get out a lot, unmasked, in environments with lots of similarly unmasked people. We really need folks like you the get COVID fast while it is milder so that more people get immunity through illness and we can move on once Omicron burns out. After you get infected, try getting one of the therapies that everyone has been touting as an alternative to vaccines. I would not recommend this for everyone, but for you, it is how you can do your share.

For Omicron, there is a real risk that the home antigen tests don’t detect it. I will find a link for you. Google this too and find a source you are happy with.
FDA says Covid-19 antigen tests may be less sensitive to Omicron variant, but they're still an important tool. They are a good start though.

It reinforces what they believe and want to believe. Propaganda has always been effective that way. It is becoming increasingly effective in the US through the internet as the purveyors of “alternate facts” create a reality that isn’t real for them. Some people just can’t differentiate. The 2016 election, the post 2020 election, and the pandemic will be road maps to our enemies as to how to spread disinformation and make it real. The key is that the recipients have to want to believe it. A lot of people are dead because of it.

Yep. Canada has their quacks just like the US does. If you really believe the vaccine has done more harm, explain how the unvaccinated are 16X more likely to die if infected from COVID. And the statements from multiple ER Docs all saying their ERs are full of the unvaccinated.

We're to pick up home tests for students in our district. The email we were given just said positive test results should be reported to the county health department but it didn't say must. The only must was if the test was positive the student must stay home and follow district guidelines.

Don't know about in your area but that's from the email we got 2 days ago.

Lol. You are trying revisionist history. Cloth masks do Zero. Every RCT has shown that. And the vast, vast majority of masks worn by people are cloth masks. It’s a total joke. But let’s at least be honest, most were pushing any mask, not surgical masks.

The one RCT you used to post explicitly said they didn't test for what you say they did. Have you found any others?
