Fla. 63 USF. 60 MVG. Castleton SOG - 4. Not a good rebounding team.... Looks to be another tough game, all are for Florida at this point. This South Florida team plays slow down ball, we will have to be hitting our shots. We can only hope CMW will have enough passing, picks and other different offensive looks, to help scoring. Our defense is going to get worn down because we all know, close games CMW doesn’t like to substitute in them. Hopefully, no one gets hurt and we substitute to keep guys fresh. Go Gators, patience is the key to this game. We have to make them work as hard as we do and get the open look, and nail it. Everybody on the Gator team rebound!
Probably, but full court press also leaves you vulnerable to good shooting wide open when the opponent breaks the press. Do it in spurts, then man to man half court or his 1-3-1 zone. Just don’t let them get comfortable. I think our shooting will be what keeps them in the game if we just chuck the ball at will. Good open shots or pass quickly and also set screens at different locations on the court. I just don’t want to see our guys give all they got to the detriment of our shooting, if of course CMW shortens the bench due to being in a close game throughout. Hopefully, the coaches know that changes are needed to be more consistent. We can only hope. Go Gators!
Hopefully we rebound better, everybody on the team needs to get them, no zeros in the rebound column for any player. S. Fla. has two guards as their leading rebounders. We can do it, but will we have to be aware of where the ball is all the time and then crash the boards. Plus seven, IDK?
Not much to say about this one, as I got Bally'd again. Was able to watch a few minutes of a bootleg, but not enough for an overall impression. Good news: Gators shot 80% from the FT line on 12/15. They were also +18 in rebounding, to the tune of 45 - 27. Not a great shooting game from two or three and nobody's performance really stood out. Fleming edged Duruji for MVG behind 4/7 shooting, where Duruji went 4/8.
