What are you talking about? I'm not exaggerating the risk of myocarditis in teens because i never specified how much of a risk it is. The risk is there although small. Getting the vaccine gives protections for a very short time but doesn't make the child immune from getting myocarditis. So in essence you are increasing the odds of a child getting myocarditis by vaxxing them. PLUS, if a child has already had covid, then absolutely ZERO reason to get the vaccine. That is a fact. Natural immunity will protect the child much better than the vaccine and they don't need the excess risk of myocarditis. It's you who are exaggerating the safety of the vaccine, especially when compared to a vaccine like the polio vaccine.

I appreciate the response. As long term efficacy is proven, more and more of those like me will invariably become vaccinated and in a generation will be eradicated. That is the same curve I think MMR or Polio would have had. Short of forcefully jabbing people, there is always going to be a holdout percentage. I am not one, as I said before, all the other vaccines we have taken and our son has taken. I don't believe I will be a forever holdout.

Also, if they injected dead Covid into my arm, and this was not a relatively unproven delivery system, we'd have been jabbed already. Maybe I'm just suspicious of new technology. I didn't get a smart phone until 2016.

Again, I appreciate the discourse and lack of name calling/demeaning in this conversation. It is refreshing.

This sounds like you think it is a serious side effect. It isn't.

Covid disease increases risk of myocarditis about 37 times in kids vs no disease. The disease is at least 6 times more likely to give you myocarditis than the vaccination. It is simple math. The vaccine protects you from myocarditis.

For about 2 months. That's what you fail to understand. And it's not 6 times more likely in boys. That's not true whatsoever.

I'm generally not an early adopter for new tech either. Heck, I still have a working VCR/DVD machine that we occasionally use, and we didn't get a flat screen TV until about 5 years ago. But people's health is different, and often requires quick adoption. And again, the vaccine isn't really new tech. It's improvement on the old system, that relies on decades of research.

The mumps vaccine was created by injecting chicken eggs with mumps until they got a strain that contained the mRNA needed to spark an immune response, but didn't have the mRNA strains that would make people sick. That took four years to come to fruition. Now, we don't need to do that. We can just isolate which mRNA strand is needed to create an immune response. How this isn't safer than other vaccines or contracting the virus itself just doesn't make sense.

All these rates are smaller than the rate of myocarditis found in those who had COVID.

Now a study in the US has analysed how often myocarditis occurs following infection with the coronavirus. Researchers analysed the records of healthcare organisations that cover a fifth of the US population. They found that, during the first 12 months of the pandemic, males aged 12 to 17 were most likely to develop myocarditis within three months of catching covid-19, at a rate of about 450 cases per million infections.
Those who got myocarditis from the vaccine have all recovered quickly. The same cannot be said for those who got myocarditis after getting the virus. MIS-C, which can be fatal, has been noticed in some myocarditis/COVID patients.

The bottom line, when it comes to myocarditis, you are safer giving your kids the vaccine. Case numbers are lower than if/when they contract the virus, and outcomes are better.

Some of these guys should be embarrassed about the nature and extent of misinformation they post. Do you think reading that is not a bummer?

    They have links.
    You have links.
    I have links.

    Mods aren't the fact checkers.

But flat out ripping someone's personal appearance is
sad and a straight up no brainer rules violation and no one should defend that Davis. Period. End of story.

Again, no one is making you or I read anything. This isnt a news outlet. It is an opinion forum, good, bad or otherwise.

The person posted his pic in a thread (which is not smart) and somebody made inappropriate comments and the pic, weeks ago. Why is this being still discussed here?

The same comments/gifs etc are still being made. They are getting deleted. I have done it multiple times now. Obviously I am not bringing up a weeks old issue today.

Not sure what the links have to do with it. Certain posters share information (linked or not) that is grounded in ignorance and based on politically motivated misinformation. I'm not defending the ripping of someone's personal appearance, but I have and will continue to rip people's dangerously erroneous opinions on this particular matter.

You don't get it. Myocarditis can happen after being vaccinated. Especially after 2 months when the vaccine wanes. How is this not hard to grasp. It's almost like you don't care about facts. And you won't even address the elephant in the room of the kids who previously already had covid and have natural immunity. That is where you are wrong. And ignoring it won't make it magically go away.

You are making up crap again. You said "all recovered quickly". Don't make up crap. Not a good look for someone who has been ignoring facts for going on 2 years now.

Also, I'll post the UK data since the US is too busy to post this data I guess. Those vaccinated spread covid as much as those without the vaccine.
