Synopsis or article, it doesn’t matter because the point is that attention to this problem is starting to get the spotlight. This isn’t going to be continually swept under the rug as if nothing is wrong. That seat is going to get warmer as this season progresses.

    Maybe.
Or the team could find its footing and White’s seat becomes quite secure.
We will see. Well, I guess “we” won’t literally “see”.... you’re not watching. But you know what I mean.

I still read the sports news so I’m pretty sure I’ll keep informed of how the season is going. But we both know that it doesn’t take a magic eight ball to see that White’s future with Florida is on shaky ground with the way this team is trending.

Spotlight? This was an afterthought blurb at the bottom of an article by a writer no one has ever heard of. No one is talking about this at any big level.
This is way down the national discussion because:
    1. Our football news is dominating it.
    2. Our Woman's hoops scandal is bigger news.
    3. It's very early and we have some nice wins to counter the one terrible loss.

Question for the pro Mike White or even the on the fence crowd, what do you need to see results wise from the Gators this year that would be enough to bring Mike White back for another year? Imo, top 4 in SEC or Sweet 16 and he's definitely coming back. What do you think has to happen? Is just making the NCAA tournament as a lower seed good enough with a 1st or 2nd rd exit?

There are some on here that would want him back if he lost every game for the rest of the season. SMH

    No there aren't.

There may however be some that hope he does, just like there were in football.

That article is not a front page article and is a back page piece by a writer I have never heard of.
Heck, it may only show up for us because of browsing/membership options at ESPN. They cater most of their content these days anyway.

    Tyler Nettuno

Tyler Nettuno is a journalism graduate of the University of Florida who covers the Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars for the websites Gators Wire and Jaguars Wire. His work has also been published by The Independent Florida Alligator, the Florida Times-Union and ESPN Gainesville.
Maybe not a well known writer but what makes it worse is that this “synopsis” was written by someone that graduated from UF. Ouch!!!!!
Can’t even get good press from a homegrown writer. How bad does that look?
Plus, just because it wasn’t front page news does that mean it isn’t credible?

No…. I don’t think there’s anybody here that wouldn’t want to move on if we lost 20 games.

The problem here is he’s been getting to NCAA tournaments, usually wins around 20 games, which outside of a handful of blue bloods, most programs consider that the pass/fail level for basketball, and the reality is with the fan support UF has that we are not a team that has a right to expect to compete for championships often. That is the reality.

The problem is it’s hard to maintain a program that year after year “barely” gets to the tournament. Eventually you either catch lighting and actually have a top 10 team, or the bottom falls out and you miss badly with a losing record. So I guess we just have to wait until that “break” happens. Unfortunately this could very well end with another “ok” season, which doesn’t excite anyone, but it’s also hard to make any moves over.

I do wish White would bring in an offensive X’s and O’s guru to help offensive fundamentals and movement a bit.

It sounds like you admit that White isn’t good at coaching offense. Curious at what aspects of the game White does well. Only thing that I can say that I’ve liked is his out of bounds plays.

The point is he didnt write anything. He piggy backed off of a single paragraph about UF at the end of an article that was about a bunch of teams from an author no one knows.

Kinda looks like he gets credit for the “synopsis” to me. Just saying.

Wrong forum, you are mistaking this place for Rupp’s Rafters. Besides, I don’t think the bar is quite that high to replace our current situation.

We are swimming in uncharted territory with so many transfers. It is kind of like a UK team except they are usually freshman that have not played together. Instead we have seasoned players trying to figure it out and the season is still young.

Still the Texas Southern game is still a head scratcher for me. Upperclassmen should know better than to take any opponent lightly. Put the blame where you will. There is enough to go all around. Even if the coaching staff sensed it with bad practices they should be able to right that ship.

    OK.

    I was being sarcastic.

And we are not getting Billy D back.
