Always a good idea to document your attempted autogolpe.

interesting the varying jail time the guilty receive. Assault of a LEO is of course a big factor.

I mean the guy appears to be a moron but looks like trespassing and stealing what I can only assume was a crappy beer. Wouldn't expect anything too harsh but I don't know the whole story.

I’m kind of curious why there’s beer in the Speaker’s fridge, but then I think about the date that this happened and it makes sense.

Someone Is Lying About Why It Took So Long for the National Guard to Deploy on January 6 - The Bulwark

On one hand, we have current House Sergeant at Arms Maj. Gen. William Walker, who was then commanding general of the DC National Guard, and his then-Army counsel Col. Earl Matthews saying, in an explosive, new 36-page memo to the January 6 Committee that the DC National Guard was prevented from quickly deploying to the Capitol and that Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy was strangely incommunicado during that time period.

And on the other hand, Army leadership says they spent those agonizing hours creating a plan for a Guard mobilization that McCarthy had to twice call upon Walker to implement.

Yet Walker and Matthews say that these supposed calls from McCarthy never took place and that they never saw the plan that Army leadership supposedly produced. When the Guard finally got the go-ahead to move, they claim, it followed its own plans as it intended in the first place.

So, what really happened? Who is lying? And why?

Some additional details on Meadow’s role in the attempted autogolpe.

Meadows speaking “nonstop” to Patel, who was installed as a loyalist to DOD after Trump lost the election.

Then Meadows makes clear the the National Guard would be there to protect “pro Trump people.”

And Meadows is who introduced Trump to Clark, who was seeking to be installed as Acting AG and who wrote letters to the states to try to get Pence to throw out and have electors pledged to Trump fraudulently sent instead.

So that’s an interesting bit of news for Sunday night of the breadth of the Trump team’s attempt to foment the insurrection in order to overthrow the US government.

One of my biggest concerns is that there are elements within the security forces (national guard, police, etc) that were complicit in this bs and will not be held accountable so they will be in a position to help again if called upon. I hope they can ferret out the sympathizers and remove them from positions of authority

If the court accepts the argument that they were following instructions from someone else, then that someone else needs to be charged as well.

They want it both ways: following orders and the person who gave the orders is above the law.

I read it as more of a repeating the fact that obeying an illegal order is not a valid defense.

At least when Nero fiddled, he was just nonfeasant.

Worth noting that the same night that Hannity and Ingram were texting Trump’s son and COS to call off his supporters, they were on Fox “News” claiming BLM and Antifa were the “real” culprits.
