Appleby should start over jones. I think Myreon is a good player, but he can’t find it. And he is killing us. Perhaps coming off the bench will spark. I’d actually like to see us pair App and Kennedy. It gives us a backcourt that can shoot. I know Kennedy’s numbers probably aren’t great, but it’s a small sample size- and the kid can shoot it. Either way BMac and Jones really shouldn’t be on the floor together, right now. Mckissic isn’t really a willing shooter, and Jones can’t find the basket. Felder should temporarily start ahead of duruji. Anthony is finding fast foul trouble.
That loss hurt was hoping we would pull it out. Tyree’s last shot looked like it was going down. Do you think our OOC record is going to be good enough to not be a negative on our resume come selection Sunday?
Mckissic is a tough defender and can drive. I don’t mind him starting, he brings it. I with you on taking Myreon out of the starting lineup. After tonight, the writing is on the wall. Kennedy would be a better all round player. As for Felder starting, he and Kennedy in the starting lineup might shake it up. By the way Castleton is playing way to many minutes in a row, due to CMW not bringing another decent scoring forward, even though JJ did a decent job. When you recruit more guards than bigs, you are always going to be hoping Castleton doesn’t foul out! Whoops
The SEC is tough this year. I don’t see Florida finishing in the top six teams of the conference. Bubble team at best.
JJ did a really nice job and was more than adequate. The missing piece on this team is not a back-up center... it’s a consistent shooter. Someone has to emerge. I agree about McKissic- is just would like to infuse some shooting.
nah- we won’t get knocked for our OOC. But our losses will certainly hurt. Tons of basketball left to play....
I was proud of JJ’s decent game tonight, still lumbers behind at times, but much more aware of what he needs to do. He can get better with more playing time in short stints. Scored a couple of buckets and blocked the path to the basket more than a few times. He is so big, he gathers fouls just breathing near someone. He can come in for short stints and keep Colin fresh. Colin got fouls when he was getting tired every time. But as I said earlier, Kennedy and Felder need to start!
Appleby Mckissic Phlan Felder CC I still can not blame White. The shots are there but they are missing them. How is that Whites fault. When I missed a shot or a simple layup never thought what a lousy coach I have. Most shots are open, ball movement is good most times..
How many minutes did Felder play in the second half? Duruji only played 16 total due to foul trouble.
No one defended well tonight. Maryland must have shot 50 or 60 percent tonight. Refs took our bigs out of the game with foul trouble early.
Why would anyone expect any better than this? That pretty much describes Florida basketball 5 of the past 6 seasons under Mike White.
This may be off-topic, but what was the reason for Noah Locke choosing to transfer from here? Definitely could use his shooting.....
