an excellent bounce back effort - you could the loss bothered the team. I predicted they would play with their hair on fire . . . and they did. what i liked most was the bench use.
I've only watched the first half so far. Was pleased to see Jitoboh & Kennedy get some quality mins. Reeves & Lane saw some action too. Lane looked really good for a spurt there. Obviously coach can extend the bench against a team of this caliber, but there has been little in-between, in terms of depth. Were some of these guys out sick for some of the games, or is it really just a tight-to-the-vest issue when we play good teams, or are in a close game?
It was a win we were expected to get but as we learned last game that means little unless you actually notch the victory. Overall it was a good night with areas that still need working on. I'll take that over a loss anytime and it should have helped the team's mindset.
what i liked most is that the team seemed really bothered by the loss. . . playing almost angry. that loss could go one of two ways. this was a nice step in the right direction.
It was the emotion of CC that I was alluding to in my previous posts. Playing angry may be good for them as long as they watch the PFs.
-- We need that effort from Collin every game. It was much different tonight from everyone. Good to see.
The last game was an anomaly. Every other game was complete domination with the exception of OU. Why should we believe the one outlier result is the norm based on what we've seen?
Agree. We played only seven against OK. Then nine against TXs. Tonight we played 12 guys. We're not gonna trot 12 guys out there against OK, but we should play nine or ten (we played 10 against FSU and 8 plus 1min from Jitoboh against OSU). I don't mean to look at this just from a numbers standpoint, because individual matchups, experience, and physical ability matter. It will be interesting to see how deep we go in the conference season.
I think he needs to have Kennedy and Kowacie game-prepared for SEC play. They dont need huge minutes, but they need to contribute. And I really think both are very capable.
Going 20% from three will continue to lose us games when it matters. Although there is a W in the column, this team continues to show glaring weaknesses of a typical Mike White team. The OSU game was an anomaly. Every other year was complete incompetence by Mike White with the exception of the start of this year. Why should we believe the 6 game stretch is the norm based on what we've seen?
Agree about minutes, just a few can go a long way. I think Reeves is gonna have to show something more to be ready for SEC play. Can play in the easier games, but he needs some work to be able to play against the top SEC teams imo.
Sooo................let me go and bump my thread real quick. Sorry but it's the petty ways in me sir! Lol. Go Gators
