Got killed on the boards tonight 46-23

Any thoughts about playing Duruji, Felder and Castleton together?

Is Jitoboh available? He was at least giving us 5 first half minutes until the Okie game.

Mike White never has a contingency plan. One trick pony. 4 around 1 offense most of the time so going big probably hasn’t even been practiced. If the initial plan isn’t working, he typically doesn’t have anything else to go to.

Remember a few months ago when I questioned our lack of post players? Well here we are.

My take: he could if he changed philosophy on both offense and defense. I think he would also need a better PG who could consistently feed the ball to the post. And then we need scorers and not put-backers.

But to me Mike cannot fathom a defense that isn't quick, in-your-face and reactive to the ball. And who we have right now is on the short side. Not that they aren't athletic but still, short. BTW, I am talking about the frontcourt. I think we are fine sizewise in the back.

The issue for the most part wasn’t the bigs IMO, Tex S jacked up deep shots that created long rebounds and I don’t recall seeing our guards box out anyone on the three point line. They all just turned their heads expecting to break out on offense.

Of all that went very wrong last night, I wouldn’t put our post game high on the list.

No - we don't have a big lineup and a few posters alluded to that being a potential problem (in terms of lack of depth down low). Why did Jitoboh not play? I don't think he's any kind of difference maker; more of a liability, which speaks to the problem. The other problem is they can't shoot. They are a poor shooting team.

I think the announcer made a good point... a lot of our guys were waiting and watching for CC to clear the boards. And many times not boxing out, nor pursuing the ball.
CC hardly had a good game, but Duruji/Felder/Fleming didn’t total 10 rebounds between em.
They were a bigger problem, imo.
