No, I don't need to post after a win for a coach I don't think is very good?

Regardless, I think it is odd to just go and post, 'good win'! Not much room for discussion there. Do you go and rate every one of your Amazon purchases 4 stars for when they do what is expected of them?

This team was always going to be offensively challenged, so losing an ugly game isn’t surprising. White does not seem to have any half court offense. It’s bizarre.

But man, these last two games haven’t just been offense. Defensively we are getting picked apart, not great for a team that was supposed to hang its hat on smothering defense. This one we hit the trifecta of having a miserable offensive game, getting picked apart on defense, and also getting destroyed on the glass.

I was optimistically cautious about getting my hopes up because of the past 6 seasons of seeing things that were not pleasing to see from White’s coaching. The defense was tough, the team was playing extremely hard and the pace was enjoyable to watch. There was nothing enjoyable about the Gators performance tonight. At halftime a good coach would have torn into this team and they would have came out fired up and played like they should in the second half. But we saw bad get worse, and suffer one of the worst losses that I’ve ever seen a team have at home to a much inferior team. This is a loss that White should have to explain to the Athletic Director and give a detailed plan on what he’s gonna do to improve going forward. His seat deserves to get hot for a loss this bad.

No. I talk about the win with my brothers here. We root for the kids. We celebrate together. I talk about the losses too, bit frankly most likely f us don't really want a call conversation with those who only show up for losses.

As for Amazon, yeah...I give a lot of good rattings. It's nice and it helps people build there business. You think I am the one that's wrong there? Lol.

Look Mikes seat was warm anyway in my opinion. But a loss like this isn't what he will be judged on. He will be judged on the response and how this team plays in the SEC and the tourney.

Scott just showed us that no one is safe on his watch. Mike needs to take notice.

But for the moment, this was just one terrible game. They do happen to even the blue bloods on occasion. Let's see how they respond Wednesday.

This is such an odd take.

Why would you be limited to posting "good win" for a victory, but not "bad loss" for a defeat??

There is plenty to talk about in either scenario. Of course some revel in one more than the other.

This is really good post. Curious as to your thoughts of what's the minimum this Gator team needs to do by season's end to have Stricklin bring him back for another year. If the Gators are out of the top 4 in the SEC, lose in the qtr finals of SECT, get an 8 or 9 seed and lose in 1st round of the NCAAt. Is that enough to bring White back? If not, what do you think White needs to do to be back next year? Personally don't think Stricklin is getting rid of White if they get into the tournament, but I don't have any insider info.

This game may play a huge role in a decision if we make the tournament or not if we are a bubble team. This is a quadrant four loss and that is a very bad loss. If it is us versus another team that doesn’t have a quadrant four loss, then the other team will get the nod. I hope SS is watching and taking notice of this basketball program and not just putting it on the back burner because football is king. White needs to feel the heat after this loss especially. This game tonight was a terrible embarrassment for the Gator basketball program. This wasn’t the same team that played those first six games. This was a shell of that team. How can a team go bad that quickly? There was absolutely no corrections made from the last loss and the team actually was much worse. The offense much much worse. That’s a result of poor coaching. White has to go. This was the last straw as far as I’m concerned but I’m just one frustrated fan. What’s it gonna take for SS to determine the same?

Ok. I wasn't replying to post about it being "not too good". The response was specific to "consistently 9th or 10th".

The only surprise are the wins against FSU and OSU. A loss like this should be expected at this point. We have a coach who is still learning on the job in year 7. Good guy, by all accounts, but mediocre D1 basketball coach.

Eh . . . he is a good fan, and very frustrated.
I'm bummed he is no longer gonna watch, which presumably means he likely won't post.

4 seed and at least sweet 16

3 seed and at least round of 32

5 seed or worse should require an E8

After seeing 6 seasons worth of White, do we need much more to do an evaluation?

Dan Mullen was fired for a lack of sustained success. I would call Mullen's first three years to be collectively better than Mike White's first 5 years. Is this basketball team imploding a la the football team?

If this loss keeps us out of March then it would mean we had a bad season and he needs to be let go. I really like Mike, but anything less than a top 4-5 SEC finish and a good seed in the tourney should have Mike very worried. This is a talented group. They should absolutely be a top 25 team and in the top portion of the SEC.

However , if Mike gets them to bounce back from this and head into SEC play on a nice win streak and they play to their potential, I think Mike has a good chance of surviving.
