Those people are deranged. In reality the son or some other family member or close colleague probably unintentionally infected the father. They increased their own risk by not being responsible and dismissive of the virus. But instead of being self-aware or rational, they frame it as a “spiritual attack” from their “enemies”. They sound like they belong to an insane cult.

1st Omicron case detected in the U.S.

They are probably over hyping this new variant at this point IMO. I don’t think average people should be getting lost in the weeds with new variants, even the “named” variants. Yes, the delta variant was bad for the U.S. But that doesn’t mean Omicron will match it or that it will gain a foothold at all.

Their assumption is that this man’s ghostly spirit is surely “with” Jesus now. So I guess this possibility doesn’t penetrate their worldview. Nope, it’s a “spiritual attack”. I’m at a loss how they think a pandemic virus that has impacted many millions of all faiths is a special “spiritual attack” aimed at them by their enemies. But I don’t put much energy into understanding cult thinking.

Another famous anti-vaxer dies of covid.

“…..,proved a formidable platform from which to warn people off coronavirus vaccines. And warn Lamb did, to the 2 billion people Daystar reached worldwide. As the pandemic descended, Lamb and the network preached about anti-vaccine conspiracies, hosting interview after interview with vaccine skeptics…..”

I used to run at lunchtime with a fellow who was much smarter than myself. We had great arguments about everything from lattice theory to Johnny Ramone, but he stanchly refused to argue anything to do with religion, shutting it down thusly: Once you suspend rationality, anything can follow.

Denmark that is 75% fully vaccinated it’s adult population is now reporting more cases per day than anytime on record for that country.

Hospitalizations and deaths unfortunately are following the same pattern.
    Something is not adding up.

Denmark lifted restrictions for the first time just over two months ago. And while 86% of the population over 12 is vaccinated, the assumed herd immunity number is 90% of the total population. The 14% over 12 non vaccinated plus the entire population under 12 means Denmark's total vaccinated population is less than 80%. Which is enough to keep the virus circulating among the population. Especially when there are no restrictions whatsoever.

And while the death rate is climbing into double digits in Denmark, it's still nowhere near the peak they experienced December 2020 through February 2021, before the vaccine became widely available. Age and date of vaccination also likely comes into play. Elderly people who got vaccinated 10 months ago have reduced immunity, and are at higher risk. Boosters are required.

Last, Denmark is one of the countries where Omicron has been discovered outside of Africa. If Omicron is more contagious and duplicates itself faster than Delta, this might account for a peak in cases. Too early to tell, as we simply don't have enough information on Omicron yet.

So you acknowledge that the vaccine is not working so well? If the vast majority is vaccinated yet cases are sky rocketing, it’s clearly not working.

Hospitalizations always delay cases. Deaths always delay hospitalizations. It’s obvious those numbers will continue to climb too.

At the moment there is no indication their cases have peaked.

by your logic, Florida did no wrong.

And again, you aren't discussing mandates, but trying to run down the vaccine, which is anti-vaccine.

Denmark was under some of the strictest social distance policies in the EU. They always had low numbers, and their peak death rate per day was just over 30, after the last holidays. It's only now just hit double digits again. We'll see if it climbs above 20.

In Sept. Denmark went completely open with no restrictions at all. We're seeing the peak now because of this policy change. And yet, death rates are 1/3 of what they were, with restrictions, but no vaccine.

We also can only guess at her immunity level. No area has reached 90% of the full population vaccinated. Denmark has 84% 12 and older, but that leaves over 20% unvaccinated. More than enough to keep the virus circulating, especially in an area with no restrictions. It's also possible the herd % is higher than 90. Measles is over 92%.

And yes, there is waning immunity. It happens both with the vaccine and natural immunity. People who got sick in 2020 or vaccinated before March 2021 with no booster are at higher risk of getting COVID.

My parents are high risk especially my mom. I pushed both to get the vaccine and just recently the booster. Yes, that makes me anti-vax. You don't know a damn thing about me.

I'm very worried about them. I am also no sheep so if I see something that does not add up, I am going to be very concerned because I know plenty of vaccinated people who I pray to god don't get this thing because I don't want to lose them.

Continue to sheep on and not question anything... that has worked out for many throughout history.

If over 80% are vaccinated, why would herd immunity matter since we are told the vaccine prevents spread?
ITs a rhetorical question since obviously it does not, unfortunately.

most of those unvaxxed at this point are those under 12 who really do not get serious illness from this anyhow.

I truly hope it does hold up against hospitalizations but its not looking good. Treatments are very important here.

it should be noted, only about 13% of the population has had a booster. Likely far to low for their winter wave :(

The I can cry, but I refuse to try crowd:

April 2020: "there are more important things than living and that's saving this country" Dan Patrick

July 2021: It's experimental, it might not work, I can't take that risk.

All I know is that you cherry pick whatever data you can find to make anti-vax statements. Since you aren't anti-vaxx and just asking questions, why are you only posting the countries with higher than normal cases? You didn't come here and say "Good news, gents! Canada is 78.44% vaccinated and has much fewer cases than last winter." Because an intellectually honest person that was asking questions rather than pushing anti-vaxxer agenda would do that at least some of the time. And yet, you aren't.

But you got to call somebody a sheep, always the sign of a truly deep thinker!

All I know is you don't want to look at any data that suggest they are not as effective as we hoped.
What is healthier, cautious outlook or just staying blind to what is going on?

I'll never support vaccine mandates but I highly suggest many people to get it.

I have looked at all sort of data. I have added a bunch. You didn't like when I did that, so this statement appears to be projection.

Why would you suggest people to get it? You just said it is ineffective (in terms of stopping spread, hospitalizations, and deaths within the past couple of days). Why are you suggesting that people get an ineffective vaccine? I'm honestly interested in hearing you make the case for why a person should take this vaccine that you have now said the data shows is not stopping the spread, preventing hospitalization, or deaths.

Unvaxxed under 12 rarely get serious cases, but they are vectors that spread the virus. And they count towards herd immunity. 13% boosters mean there are a lot of Danes with limited immunity.

Last, the vaccine helps slow the spread. But it's not perfect. Never advertised as perfect either. No vaccine ever has been. But isn't significantly slowing the spread a good thing? And the vaccine accomplishes this.
