I would take Glover over Appleby in a heartbeat. I don’t particularly like how Appleby plays the game although he has a lot of talent. As to the other 2 guys, they don’t play the same position as Glover. However, it’s a no-brainer to take Glover over them at the point guard position.

Never mind the above... I see your answer.
    Yes, I disagree.
Nonetheless- I am rooting for him. And despite your inference otherwise... I am also rooting for each of our transfers and assistant coaches. I really liked each of those guys and knew a couple personally.

jones has handled a fair amount of pg duties so far. And though it is not his natural spot, I’d take him over Glover everyday and twice on Sunday… including this Sunday versus Troy. :)

AGAINST McNEESE!!!! Gosh you conveniently gloss over the fact that these games are against LESSER OPPONENTS than the SEC teams we face. Nobody is rooting against him but the way you prop him up makes some of us want to bring it back to reality. Glover is a great kid and a good college basketball player and I’m glad he found a level of competition where he can excel. But him over Tyree is just…c’mon man.

Oregon State went to the Elite Eight last season. San Francisco is a good team that is in one of the best conferences in the country.

Not a good news for Omar- he has been buried by the return of Kofi. He didn’t record a stat in today’s game versus ND. To make matters worse, Illinois just landed Dain Dainja via the transfer portal. He is a former 4-star, top 100 player in the 2020 class (# 18 center) who originally signed with Baylor.

Osifo has 14/6 this Saturday, as JU improved its record to 4-2.

Sorry - love your hoops takes, but this one made me giggle. I root for all these kids, including tampaluvcrush :p but feel like Glover would not have earned many minutes on this Gator squad. Glad he's doing well at Samford.

You can giggle, but the Gators have 3 2-star players who transferred from mid-to low-majors starting for them and a 4th in Fleming coming off of the bench. Appleby didn’t do at Cleveland State what Glover has been doing so far at Samford. And, this is in Glover’s 1st 6 games at Samford. Samford just went 3-0 in the Emerald City Classic, with Glover making the All-Tournament team. In those 3 games, Glover scored 65 points, had 22 assists and was 29-29 from the free throw line. How about checking on our 7 transfers and see if any of them did anything like this in a 3-game stretch in their college careers. I will add that Glover excelled against 8-0 San Francisco which is knocking on the door of the top-25 and Oregon State which went to the Elite Eight last season.

No one is suggesting it not possible for kids to transfer from smaller schools and find success at the likes of Florida. We are witnessing it this season, in which - despite your prediction to the contrary - White has seemingly upgraded his roster with such players.
What is being said is that Glover was inferior to the players ahead of him last season, and would have been inferior to those on the roster this year.
He does not face the same competition for playing at Samford, making it a good move for increased minutes. And he is talented kid - so I am not surprised to see him doing well in a featured type role. But that role wasn’t and wouldn’t be available at Florida, and he likely would have been fighting for limited time. Not because White doesn’t like him, or some other conspiracy - but because better players were, are and will be on the the Florida roster.

Before switching to the Gator game, I will watch the start of Noah Locke (Louisville) at Michigan State (ESPN)

I'm glad Glover is doing well but that doesn't mean he is a better fit for the Gator team than Appleby. You have not mentioned defense which is now the identity of this Gator team and the importance of team chemistry which this team seems to have.

Still hurting about Omar, I thought he was going to be the next big thing. Remember that 22 point 10-11 shooting night ?? Seems long ago..............

    Tampa -
Fleming may have only been a (2 star) but the kid can play.

I am cheered to hear of Glover's success.

Tyree can be frustrating at times but hitting a 27' bomb to put away OSU did not exactly cause any heartburn with the fan base.

I know I should not mention it but, hey - ANYBODY think what this team would be like if KJ was available?

As mentioned, anyone that ever wears a Gator uniform gets my support and of course that includes Glover. Having said that the kids that are playing are 6 - 0 and MANY ANALYSTS are calling UF THE EARLY STORY of the college basketball season!

Two different subjects. The 2 stars that we brought in are dynamite so far. Hopefully, it keeps up. However, the Mike White supporters who wear blinders can’t acknowledge that Glover is a talented kid who could have been a valuable asset for the Gators. Instead, he was misused, as was Ruzhnetsev most recently and the majority of the recruits who have joined the program out of high school. Reeves could be next. Hopefully not, but the coach has to have the guts to put these talented kids into the rotation and in the right positions to develop their games.

If your argument is that Glover (and others) should've been allotted more playing time… not because he was better or even as good as those in front, but rather to appease/develop so he may stick around for the future… I can kinda understand that position.
That is, of course, sacrificing a bit of the present for the future… abd we could debate the wisdom of that strategy. But I’ve always heard you make a case, even very recently, the Glover was better than Tyree. And I think you’re flat wrong.

Look it's obvious you were a big supporter of Glover who predicted how great he was going to be and it is obviously impossible for you to admit you were wrong. Glover had NUMEROUS chances to EARN playing time and he continually failed to do it. Maybe he is good enough, but he just lost his confidence. But, based on the playing time he got he certainly didn't deserve more. He was terrible at UF. Nobody on here is or was pulling against him, because he seemed like a great kid and we all want the Gators to do well. The fact that NOBODY on here agrees with you should tell you that just maybe you are wrong. In addition Payne has done nothing better/different than he did here, which shows it was not a White problem, as much as you would like it to be. As for Locke, another great kid, whom all Gators liked, but he apparently has the same shortcomings he had here. He isn't athletic enough to create his own shot and he sure as hell doesn't have the ball/playmaking skills to be a point guard. So, again it's hard to blame White when he is virtually the same player there that he was here.

Thanks tampa - good stuff. No point in quibbling further, as Glover has a new home and we have new Gators to root for. My only question would be how do you think Glover would have fared against FSU?
