Troy has been in a bunch of close games, including a couple of O/T tilts. I thought that with that and the potential for a Sunday morning hangover, that the Gators might be in a bit of a dogfight today. Well, I was wrong. This team is steady as she goes so far.
Good to see the bench get some real minutes today. Kennedy, Reeves, Lane, Gatkek, and Jits all got time enough to get into the flow. Kennedy and Reeves will be reliable scorers for us off the bench, just need a little more seasoning to adjust to the speed and length of the college game. Kennedy is ahead of Reeves right now, but Reeves's ceiling is much higher. He'll be a star next season.
Glad they were able to keep it close against T-Roy, as some called them when I was, briefly, a student there in '78.
Troy had a pretty sound strategy for the game, but it blew up in their face. They doubled CC every time he got the ball from 10 feet in, and were hoping we would just miss a ton of outside shots. We scorched it though. Game over.
Yeah, it was Troy State when I was there. Had a really good team that year. They were ranked 5th, nationally, in DII until they got the crap beat out of them the last game of the season by Jax. State.
Always Gators first, and will be until I take my last breath. Was raised in Gville and saw my first game in 1961. Am also an Alum.
