I would love to see the matchup, especially with the Zags. If they have a susceptibility- its aggressive, athletic teams.
I recorded the game and watched it in its entirety this morning. Nembhard probably made 40 really good passes against an elite defense. My thought watching the game was that I have not seen a college player pass the ball this well in years. Yes, he did make mistakes at the end when Gonzaga had to force things, but a strong argument can be made that he is the best point guard in college basketball.
He scored a whopping 6 points against Duke. I wish Nembhard the best but I don’t agree that he’s the best PG in college.
He had several assists and I’m not disputing he’s a solid PG, I’d say in the top ten of PGs this season but there are several ahead of him.
I’d say you’re wrong. Go watch Gonzaga’s games against UCLA and Duke and report back. As I said previously, he probably made 40 really good passes that kept the offense going. Gonzaga is a different team without him, which is why he never comes out of the game. He will play in the NBA.
Top 20 College Basketball Point Guards for the 2021-2022 Season: 10-1 Nembhard may make a roster in the NBA as a bench warmer but I’m not sure if he will be that fortunate. He’s not got the skill set to be successful in the NBA. He isn’t good at stop and pop, and is too slow to guard his position at that level. Speedy guards would drive around him at will.
McBride is on the Knicks. I would take Nembhard over the other 8, and I am guessing that most of the experts would do the same. I don’t know whether you have seen Nembhard much this season, but he is way more athletic than he used to be. He has had no problem taking defenders off of the dribble, he has been great at running the floor, and he has been solid on defense.Nothing is certain, but I am confident that he will play in the NBA, and he will have a chance to start at some point.

Interestingly, I completely agree with the analysis of AN’s game, but I think that he is a better point guard than everyone on that list who I am familiar with. My guess is that the article writer also thinks that AN is a better college point guard than the others. However, for draft position purposes, he is going with the elite athletes.
Nembhard is what he was at UF. He is an excellent passer with good court vision but after that there are issues as far as the NBA goes. First, for NBA standards, he has average, at best, athletic skills and quickness will be a major issue for him on the defensive end. Second, as we saw at UF, Nembhard’s outside shooting (mid range and from three) is not good, especially for NBA standards. He will play professional basketball somewhere and will have success but I seriously question whether it will be in the NBA.
