The assertion that lock downs and closures don't work is idiotic. If you lock down you will obviously reduce the spread. You can have a reasoned debate as to whether the costs of such shutdowns are worth the benefits.

Exactly. Lockdowns work and only a fool would think otherwise. There's definitely a debate to be had about the economic and societal cost of lockdowns. But that's not what he's saying. He's saying they don't work at reducing disease transmission.

I still can't find the CDC information but here is a tiny bit the FDA's information on the Pfizer vaccine... And next Fauci wants to infect our babies and toddlers with this crap? He should already be in jail waiting for a long prison sentence...

Here is some more on the dangers of the vaccine.... But remember that the CDC and VAERS are not reported in a fair way... Meaning that the CDC says that not all adverse effects that a person may show can be attributed to the vaccine after taking the vaccine... Total BS..

I'll take my chance and not worry about any side effects... I will not comply... and I will never take that jab.

Even if we accept this site's interpretation of the VAERS data, the vaccine is vastly less dangerous than the virus.

12,313 deaths among 190 million vaccinated would give us about 65 deaths per million among the vaccinated.

793,437 deaths among 146 million covid cases would give us about 5435 deaths per million among those who got the virus. Even if we just did covid deaths versus the entire US population, we end up with 2480 deaths per million.

One of these numbers is much larger than the other. I'm not sure how anyone could look at the math and think that not taking the vaccine is the smart choice here.

So roughly 3 million people die in the US every year. 3 million out of a population of 330 million means about 0.9% of the population dies every year. So out of 190 million vaccinated, we could expect about 1.7 million of them to die in a year (0.9% times 190 million). That equates to about 32,700 deaths per week. So we could expect about 32,000 deaths to have randomly occurred in the week after people got vaccinated. So there being 12,313 deaths reported to the VAERS system is lower than I would expect. Adverse events are supposed to get reported regardless of causality. People die after getting vaccinated and it has nothing to do with the vaccination.

Let's not forget in the Winter/Spring 2020, lockdowns/social distancing/masking were the only weapons we had to fight what quickly became a pandemic spread of a novel animal virus.

What some seem to continue to get wrong is that despite measures put in place many people could not completely abide due to work and other living conditions with many others innocently or not so innocently not abiding by such measures.

I'd guess that everyone here who tried to abide by such measures, violated them plenty of times, perhaps often unknowingly.

Each *violation* undermines the strength of lockdown measures, which were always imperfect because a microscopic virus spreading among a human population in the wild is a constant danger that capitalizes on normal human social organization and tendencies.

Also, it's a much tougher task to measure the effectiveness of such rules because we're talking something that didn't happen--i.e. how many didn't catch Covid that otherwise would have had no distancing rules been put in place?

We also could not accurately measure how well hundreds of millions of people followed rules.

I heard something on a podcast today I never really thought of. All this ranting and raving about freedom from lockdowns, masks, etc in terms of businesses, it is really an indication of how we have become a spoiled entitled nation, and it's not only about of freedom but about our perceived right to be served. During the middle of pandemic we expect business and restaurants to be there for us, while we safely work at home behind our computer. Statistically more "essential" workers died during the pandemic due to covid. But we don't care, we expect our chicken sandwich or Amazon delivery to be there for us.

To make matters worse, many oppose efforts like masking and vaccines to try to make those workers safer.

I think preferable would be to take neither for many. Which is a fair position imo. Especially those who have natural immunity.

I've been saying covid is seasonal and others disputed it. I guess this is just a coincidence...

The number of U.S. Covid-19 deaths recorded in 2021 has surpassed the toll in 2020, according to federal data and Johns Hopkins University, demonstrating the virus’s persistent menace.

The total number of reported deaths linked to the disease topped 770,800 on Saturday, Johns Hopkins data show. This puts the pandemic-long total at more than twice the 385,343 Covid-19 deaths recorded last year, according to the most recent death-certificate data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Not necessarily coincidence, but not necessarily seasonal. Seems like you're jumping the gun and leaving out other waves that occurred in between such as the late summer-fall wave we just experienced, i.e, you can't ignore what occurred in between Nov 2020 & Nov 2021. Also, it seems to me that scientists haven't made that determination yet because temperature hasn't made Covid disappear.

FL had their bump in summer of 2020 and summer of 2021. Look at that map. Anyone NOT thinking there is a direct correlation has an agenda.

    Of course lockdowns work.

Right at the beginning the world should have completely shut down for 14 days.
    Boom, no more Covid.

Instead the “partial lockdowns” dragged on for months and killed people and killed others livelihoods.

Florida also had a huge bump in January. Covid may well be seasonal depending on location but as usual you are jumping to the conclusion you want to see.

You guys won't give up. Too funny. Just like natural immunity, school closures, lockdowns, masks...

You guys just keep dying on that hill. The ass backwards logic you guys try to use to convince yourself when the data is staring you in the face is hilarious to see. Keep it up. I need it after the year the Gators have had.

You saying the same stuff over and over again just means you're wrong over and over again. I've never seen someone so determined to show that they are a fool as you.
