To be fair, I commented in the game thread. I don’t just show up when the Gators lose. Although I may feel more strongly about commenting after a loss.
Eh- it’s a basketball game... allow yourself to enjoy it without all sorts of parameters. We played well, and beat a bitter rival. Be happy, and post about it.
I’m definitely happy about breaking the 7 game skid to FSU. You are right, I need to ease up and just enjoy the game but it’s how most of us were raised in Kentucky. In Kentucky, basketball was about all you had. Not that I’m a UK fan but I was in my younger years. Donovan is the reason I started following the Gators. Liked him as a player for Pitino, as an assistant, as a head coach at Marshall. I wanted UK to interview him when Pitino took the Celtics job but when they didn’t even give him an interview then I was finished rooting for UK. Donovan ended up at Florida and that is when I became a Gator fan.
yeah - I am not one to be giving advice here. Most of the time . . . I am a miserable, nervous wreck DURING games. But I will allow my self to be happy, and probably overly-optimistic after win.
Folks, a little friendly ribbing is okay but let's don't go over the line and start with any insults.
I understand the frustration of long term disappointment. But it is relative to expectations. We haven’t been bad, or even mediocre, relative to the college basketball universe. We just weren’t that good. After watching that game I’m going back to expecting a win rather than hoping for one. This bunch wants it and they know how to go get it. And it was CMW who went out and got them. You can board the train anytime.
