New energy today. CC was dominant and the transfers provide great energy. Don’t let em fool ya, FSU with 2 excellent transfers, a couple of 5 star freshman and some key returnees is a very good team. Building and team were different today. Could be a very good year if we play hard and as a team.
I think everyone is hoping for a turning point for CMW because of how he’s carried himself despite a lot of the setbacks, so maybe this is it. Feels good to get the Nole losing streak broken.
Yeah, love new hires and new players. Castleton was amped up today. Love his fire. Can’t remember the last time we had a player with numbers like he has today.
I figured he had a game like that. I recall AD having a huge rebounding game against UK in the O'Dome during the 1994 season. Maybe 20 boards in a game in the 50's?
I actually thought CC had more than 6 blocks today but I was off. I remember games years ago with Schintzius, Chatman, McDowell, and Haslem And it seems like they were grabbing double digit rebounds all the time. But when I go back and look at the numbers it really puts Castleton‘s effort today in perspective. They were not always grabbing double digit rebounds and not many were ever grabbing 15 or 16.
I like that we are seemingly more blue collar and hopefully tougher physically AND mentally than the last couple years.
The best thing about tough teams that play solid defense is that those characteristics follow you wherever you play. We will have dreadful nights from the floor and we will struggle in hostile environments on the road, but being tough and playing great defense will keep us in a lot of ballgames this year. We just have to keep the energy up night in and night out.
Well then, maybe there were a few more of us with a little seasoning, experience under our belts. LOL
I was not expecting a "W" and yes, IMO FSU is good, real good. CMW just might have something special here...................
This game is going to look really good for the SOS if FSU wins a lot of games in the ACC. It was great to see some real fire from this team. CC does have leadership qualities on the floor
High energy the entire game also. Maybe because it's fsu. Maybe because this team decided they were the ones to end the streak. Dare we hope that one lackluster 2nd half against Elon was all it took to learn a lesson about low effort, not to be repeated?
For sure, there are many paths to victory or defeat in college basketball. That game 2 we just witnessed, demonstrated a mental toughness and physicality we just have not seen much of around here. As you state Ollie, some nights the rock drops, some nights it does not. A team that can win "rock fights" is the type of team that can win and advance in tournaments.
