To when Teddy Dupay finished his suspension and jumped up, pulled of his warm-up jersey and ran over to await getting back in the game. The crowd literally went wild. I thought how great it would have been if KJ could have done something like that.
I really hate it for him. I know it is eating at him sitting their watching the others play. Sad all the way around. I am sure today was extra hard for him. Just a dream how good this team would be right now with him playing.
Cool to see the post-game video from the locker room and CMW giving him the game ball. Cool also to see all the players' faces as the camera panned.
Had to bring back some bad memories for him, as to when his life changed. Bizarre that no one has provided an official diagnosis. Was not simply dehydration or a case of high blood pressure. Clearly he was on life support initially. Wonder if he will ever play or he will take the $5 million. I think I would take the money and go into coaching.
Keyontae, one of my favorite all time Gator Basketball players. The quiet assassin! No one ever stopped him going to the hoop!
This was on my mind much of the game today: Appropriate to remember last December.....much respect to Coach Hamilton and his team........ Leonard Hamilton, Florida State emotional after Keyontae Johnson's collapse: 'This is bigger than basketball' “I was moved by the outpouring of emotions from [my players],” Hamilton said Monday, via USA Today. “Several guys were crying uncontrollably in the huddle after it happened. I told the guys, ‘[The only] thing we can do right now is pray.’” Even when play resumed at the Donald L. Tucker Center — No. 15 Florida State won 83-71 — Hamilton said his players were still in shock. “One of my players was so emotional that after the timeout he was still crying,” he said, via USA Today. “I did not realize it was still on his mind but then a [referee] came and told me. “Then I realized what was going on was really, really deep.”
He has an enlarged heart and is at risk of dying if he plays. Odds are, he won't die, but, there is definite risk. A risk too high to take. I hate it for him, because he had a solid NBA career ahead of him and would have made piles of money. But he can collect his $5 million, and have a great life. He just needs to put it together. UF treated him right.
he was literally dancing on the sidelines today. it was great to see. i wish he could play . . . but it was awesome seeing him really enjoy this game.
The announcers today made it sound like he was just waiting for the all clear in order to play. Are they just clueless or do they know something we all don’t?
I think that is all anyone has heard officially. I don't know of anyone including him ever saying anything one way or the other.
