So 5 kids died in the Pfizer group and 7 in the unvaccinated group but the unvaccinated group was larger, and no idea if the unvaccinated group had more underlying conditions being as the 6k number is too small to make an educated decision one way or the other. That makes me in no way want to get my kids vaccinated, actually gives me confirmation the decision I made was right. Thanks for the data. Proves my point.

The unvaccinated group was larger. But not 40% larger. And there were 40% more deaths in the unvaccinated group. Therefore, per 100,000, this study suggests there will be even more pediatric COVID deaths among those 12 - 17 from unvaccinated kids versus vaccinated.

Too small of a sample to make a determination. Anyone unbiased would see that. But hey, no one ever accused you of being unbiased. Plus all that says is someone died with 30 days of having covid. That doesn't mean they died from Covid. Would have to go thru each death to see if Covid was responsible or not. Of course you don't care about any of that. Just vax everyone. Never seen this for flu ever yet you are wanting to inject a drug not fully fda approved for something less dangerous than the flu. Can't make this stuff up. The fear some have is unbelievable.

On a brighter note, hey booster up everyone! Don't worry about the rest of the world!

Either myocarditis is dangerous or it isn't? Which is it? The risk of myocarditis is actually higher risk with actual covid vs vaccine.

I agree with substantially all of this. I don't think we will be doing 6 month boosters for long after this one. However yearly boosters, perhaps tailored to specific variants would seem like a real possibility. If we have annual flu shots I'm not sure why we wouldn't for this. When we get to the point where everybody has at least some immunity via vaccines or natural immunity it probably starts looking more like the flu

As to whether one "needs" a 6 MO booster really comes down to the the definition of "needs". For most people the risk of severe disease is low, but not zero. For older and immunocompromised it is comparatively higher, but lower than it used to be.

To me it's not just about avoiding hospitalization. If you can avoid a week of sickness at home, and avoid 10-14 days of quarantine and all that hassle, and lower the risk of infecting your family, why wouldnt you? Your point is correct that as pills and post treatment become available the vaccine frequency can go down, but all else equal vaccine is cheaper and more proactive than post incubation antivirals.

I got the booster just because why not? While I'm protected against severe disease, a booster substantially increases infection protection at least a few months. Also with Pfizer given the weaker dose it may be that third dose is what it takes to get you a longer lasting infection immunity, but only time will tell. Plus I'll be visiting my 85+ parents over holiday season so anything to reduce chances of me catching and transmitting it is well worth it.

We don't live in a binary world. Not everything is 0 or +1. The booster provides substantial protection against hospitalization for longer than 6 months. 80-90%, and against infection probability 40-60%. That's nothing to sneeze at.

However a booster can get infection and hospitalization protection back well over 90% for some duration of which remains to be seen. I'll take that if it is available.

Compared to the flu in that age group? Probably right around 50/50. Where is the data showing myocarditis is much lower with the vaccine for that age group?

So we are 80-90% for longer than 6 months but they want boosters at 6 months? That makes zero sense.

It has been posted from various sources that myocarditis stemming from disease is more serious than the vaccine.

What are you talking about? I've said this for months. Since they pushed the vaccine on 12-17 year olds. Good try though. I'm still waiting on you to come around. I'm sure it will be any day...
