Vaccines work optimally when herd immunity is reached. Here you remark about your worry about "leaky" vaccine, and variants but elsewhere you post resistance to the nation's efforts getting to herd immunity. Seems to speak to agenda not science.

You don't want him to tell you what to do. To me that means you want him to tell you to do what you want.

Do you want your doctor to tell you what you should do, or to say just do whatever feels good?

If you don't want advice from medical professionals, then what is your expectation of them?

one of the basic principles of democracy is that the state does not control the actions of the people. biden/fauci/liberals are trying to do just that, telling us what they want us to do, telling us we must get vaccines, telling us what we can and cannot wear, aka masks . is that what you want outof the leaders you, and i do mean you, elected?

If your doctor says to smoke 3 packs of cigarettes and ignore chest pains you need a new doctor.

Fauci is a medical doctor, and he is chief medical advisor to the President. Advisor. What to doctors do? They tell you what you should do. What do advisors do? They tell you what you should do.

As to government, which is that which governs:

    Govern:

    Definition of govern

    transitive verb

1a: to exercise continuous sovereign authority overespecially : to control and direct the making and administration of policy in The country was governed by a king.
b: to rule without sovereign power and usually without having the authority to determine basic policy
    2aarchaic : MANIPULATE
b: to control the speed of (a machine) especially by automatic means
3a: to control, direct, or strongly influence the actions and conduct of
b: to exert a determining or guiding influence in or overincome must govern expenditure
c: to hold in check : RESTRAINwas told to govern her emotions
4: to require (a word) to be in a certain case
5: to serve as a precedent or deciding principle forcustoms that govern human decisions

    intransitive verb

1: to prevail or have decisive influence : CONTROLIn all situations allow reason to govern.
    2: to exercise authority

Basically you don't want medical doctors, advisors and government to not do what by definition they are supposed to do.

I love how this keeps getting posted as if it's a new tidbit.

    No kidding.

I fully support any parent that choses no to getting their young kids vaxed.

One of the basic functions of the US government is to protect the general welfare. If a foreign terrorist group were lobbying missiles into the US that resulted in the death of over 750,000 Americans, you would be calling for action. If the US military came out with a missile shield that was 85% effective in stopping the missiles, and cut down the deaths from these missiles by over 95%, you would likely want one installed in your town. If the shield worked even better if everyone put a shield up, you would be calling for it.

But the enemy in COVID isn't a foreign terrorist group lobbying missiles. It's a virus that has no agenda other than to infect and copy itself. And there is no missile shield per se, but we do have a vaccine that prevents a significant number of people from getting infected, and keeps a larger percentage from dying from the virus. So what's the difference?

Politics. Easy to vilify a terrorist group. Show their faces and the damage they do. Not so easy to vilify a microorganism you can't see without a microscope.

Vaccines and mask mandates are the government's way of doing their duty to promote the general welfare of the citizens and residents who live here. Just like there are laws about seat belts or smoking indoors in public places, these laws aren't about dictating what we can't do, but about keeping people healthy and safe. One principle of US democracy is your rights end where my rights begin. And just like I should have the right to breath clean air indoors in public spaces, which stops people from smoking there, I should also have the right to feel as safe from COVID as possible when I leave my house. Best way to do that? Vaccinate. Second best? Mask up.

Because we keep hearing that vaccinations have little or marginal personal benefit for person or group X, Y, or Z and as such they are unnecessary.

They work great for adults especially the elderly. Kids? No need. The proof is in the trial. Zero difference in the placebo and vaccine groups. That says it all.

He was using it as a bases to convince parents to get the vax for their kids.
A lot more folks are willing to take the minor risks of the vaccine on themselves for the greater good, but may not be willing to subject their young kids to it. I likely wont.
He just says the same stuff regardless of topic. We all know that. My kids trump anyone else in my decision making.

So basically, when you say they are approaching herd immunity, you have no actual evidence to support that notion, especially aside from vaccine usage?

Regularly. That is kind of what government does with laws. They regularly tell me how I need to behave. I need to wear pants when I go outside. I need to not drink and drive. I need to not rob convenience stores.

Don't the kids get to enjoy the greater good too? Even if there is only marginal benefit in the vaccine for the kids, the slowing of the spread between the kids and from kids to adults is a benefit for all. Is it not?

The risk of my kids giving COVID to their grandparents over Thanksgiving is small. But it's even smaller now that my youngest is partially vaccinated. And at little to no risk to my youngest, why shouldn't I do something to protect my parents?

I'm not going to argue with much of what you said, but still on balance the vaccination for kids is a net plus. It may be a small net plus, with prevention of rare serious disease and side effects slightly greater than rare vaccine side effects, but it still seems like a net plus.

Your position is not unlike the Oregon and Northern Cal liberal anti vax mom's who do not want their kids vaccinated with traditional vaccinations because they perceive the risks to be greater than the benefits to their individual kid.

Plus most kids have grandparents and other elderly in their life. Is there no consideration for them?

you have no evidence how many had it and were not diagnosed, so yes, we could already be there. unless you know the status of every person in the country, no one knows one way or the other.

But as I often pointed out, he is much more commonly correct than you are. You have repeatedly slammed him for saying that a spike was coming when cases were low and then we have seen a spike immediately after he said it.

Yes, lots of people have minds. However, all of those minds don't come with the same knowledge and background. Which is the point of expertise.
