I don't have a young child, but if did I would because:

    - while the odds of death or serious illness from covid are very low, they aren't zero.
    - the odds of serious side effects for the booster being rolled out are near zero
    - the Pfizer vaccine was dosed down a lot, to about a third of normal dose, in order to avoid any signicant risk of serious side effects.
    - there is some low risk of long covid
    - perhaps most importantly, while the risk is low for children, most children have grandparents or other older relatives who are at greater risk.

Do and say and think what you want, but you shouldn't characterize those who choose to do it as dumb.

There have already been over 8,500 hospitalizations and 140 deaths in the American kids 5-11 from COVID. Low risk, sure, but the vaccine will likely have a similar effect, and make the risk even smaller. We also don't know the long effects of being infected with COVID. To argue that a vaccine that contains one small, mRNA strand of the virus is more dangerous, long term, than the full virus itself is illogical. The virus contains the same mRNA strand, and a lot more.

My teen is already fully vaccinated. The youngest one gets his first jab this Saturday. It's simply the best, most effective way of slowing and eventually stopping the spread of COVID-19.

Careful. There are some on here who think you are selfish. They want you to be forced to line the pockets of pfizer.

At this point this poster is trolling by calling people who follow recommended protocols dumb and stupid.

If you are worried about myocarditis in younger boys and COVID, the vaccine is safer than contracting the virus. More kids are getting myocarditis after getting a positive COVID test than they are getting myocarditis from the vaccine.

Again, want to reduce the risk? Get the vaccine.

These drugs do not stop the spread. The UK had a massive surge with a extremely high vaccination rate. As did many states in our country. They act as a potential therapeutic. So lets not force people to take something they do not need. This virus is going to virus. And we do not have a good way to slow the spread. We have better ways to treat it and for those in high risk we have new drugs that work as a potential therapeutic.

Nope. CDC admits their numbers are inflated.

You keep saying this over and over as if it is some sort of put down. I suspect there will be ongoing boosters, maybe every year or so. That's fine by me. Getting my recent booster was a complete non event. I got it the same time as the flu shot.

The massive surge was driven by the unvaccinated. We have a great way to slow the spread. People stop being selfish and get the jab.

Are you opposed to the idea of allowing parents to decide whether or not their children should be vaccinated given that the folks whom the vaccine could spread to have the ability to get vaccinated if they want?

Not at all. Just because something as an EUA doesn't mean it's safe. I guess you haven't followed the drug companies over the last 30+ years. The "protocols" from the CDC have been political. Once that happened, all bets are off.

I'm for vaccine mandates. Here's the schedule for Arizona. The simple truth. Vaccinated are much less likely to contract and spread COVID. Go back to the graphs I posted yesterday a few pages back. Every age group showed less cases, less hospitalizations, and less deaths among the vaccinated.

Everyone eligible should get vaccinated, especially since there are immune compromised who cannot. Best way to protect them is to get vaccinated. Best way to protect each other is get vaccinated. Best way to protect yourself is to get vaccinated. If people need a mandate stick to get the jab? So be it.

Your choice. My kids will not be anywhere near this thing. Great news is they have been in school since the idiotic move to shut schools down for the end of the 2020 year. So many kids were left behind. What is crazy...I think you would have my friends jab their kids who picked Covid up (asymptomatic) at a camp. They would not have tested but the camp ended up with an outbreak that traced to a symptomatic vaccinated kid. Booster up.

    No they don't stop it.

    Called Delta variant.

They are both a preventative measure (which isn't a therapeutic) and bolster the bodies natural defenses (which I don't think is technically a therapeutic but I don't know)

The vaccines do slow the spread. The question is how much.

    What are the better ways?

Why do people think a microsdose of the vaccine is dangerous but aren't too concerned about getting a 30 minute IV of additional antibodies?

Are you kidding me. Knowingly force their body into action where they could end up with a dangerous condition verse continuing to navigate this virus without getting it. Lets go with the odds are they will not get the virus verse guaranteeing they might get a dangerous condition with a drug that will not stop them from getting the disease giving them a second shot at a bad outcome. They are not overweight and obviously young.

As long as there is a religious exemption, then I'm fine with that. Arizona has one:

The data disagrees. The highest case rates happening in communities that were at some of the highest vaccination rates out there. If you want to get the jab. Go for it. Stop telling people that do not want to that they must. You are protected. Booster up.
