RIP to the victim. Drunk drivers are selfish a-holes, from the looks of it he must've been flying. No excuse for anyone to drive drunk, especially NFL players who have access to the league's 24/7/365 car service.

Possibly burning to death would be horrible way to go. Such a messed up situation.

Hope he spends at least 10+ years. That is the absolute minimum for something like this. I hate that people (particularly people of means) often actually get off relatively light for this crime, even more crazy that some unfortunates spend much longer in prison for mere “possession”, and yet some people get off with nothing for DUI homicide.

Donte Stallworth caught a DUI manslaughter charge and did 30 days in prison. Leonard Little got 4 years probation for killing a woman while driving drunk. Of course, neither of those instances occurred during the social media era or else the backlash would've been much more severe.

Why millionaires choose to drive drunk when money is no issue is just impossible to comprehend. Not to say that the average Joe has a justifiable reason to but one luxury I would take advantage of if I were a millionaire is not having to drive myself in any number of stressful or bad situations like congested events or any night in the town drinking.

“Prosecutor Eric Bauman said Wednesday that Ruggs was traveling at 156 miles per hour about 2 seconds before the fatal crash, with a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.”

    Throw the book at him!

I know that it isn't germane to this discussion about a tragic and unnecessary loss of someone's life, but that does not appear to be a Toyota Rav/4 in that picture. That is almost certainly an older Prius in that photo.

NFL money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy a good attorney.

You think these Players will learn their lesson? Or are they going to forget about it after a few months?

My company partners with the community service program with the court system here in NC. I was stunned when I first started to find out that 24 hours of community service basically sweeps a DUI away. 3 days. That's it. Pay the fine and never spend a minute in jail.
