He MIGHT be right in terms of percentages since there is such a high vaccination rate in those areas. However, I’d be shocked if that held true in actual number of deaths.

Yep. Pretty funny to cherry pick places with extremely high vaccinated rates while looking past our own country.

If you don’t think that the only 2 “studies” showing the vaccines are much better than natural immunity are from the cdc is fishy then that’s your problem. The rest of the rational people will see this as propaganda, which is all it is.

I think you need to read my comment again. I wrote that vaccines are our primary defense, and used a football analogy. Public health strategy against infectious disease starts with vaccinations where possible because vaccines are prophylactics, unlike therapeutics.

But we also witnessed the effort to have the medical community comb through every possible drug to see if there was even a chance that x drug would provide therapeutic benefits in fighting Covid. This is because we were in an incredibly acute and dire situation with the outbreak of a novel animal virus for which no one around the world had any preexisting immune system defense.

Bottom line is that it's much better to prevent sickness in the first place than having to treat an infectious disease once it makes a person ill.

They might be things to consider but you still didn't answer the question.

As for why the CDC didn't publish it in some other peer reviewed journal, it's because it was a report that is part of their MMWR series. It would be like leveling a criticism at the BLS for publishing regular reports about the employment situation, or the BJS about crime.

It's quite literally these agencies jobs to publish reports.

The studies are not mutually exclusive. The Israeli study was related to longer term immunity against infection. The CDC study was intermediate terms immunity agsinst hospitalization. It isn't at all shocking that you get different results.

It would be shocking if they actually got different numbers. Just the rational people don’t believe the propaganda coming from the cdc. It’s literally like a commercial for a drug. That’s about how honest it is. Anyone thinking the vaccine is better than natural immunity is either ignorant or dumb.

Just so we’re clear, over 9 months and nearly 200 hospitals, we are talking about 89 reinfections. Does anyone see this and go “wait a minute”? Of course not…

Good try to say it’s part of their MMWR series. There is so much cherry picking with this “study” the bushel is full cherries. Like I said, only the cdc has argued that the vaccine is superior to natural immunity. This is just like the cdc’s “studies” showing masks work LOL. Some people are very gullible.

Stop trying to turn this into questions for others to answer. You leveled unproven criticisms that you should at least be able to back up.

Fact is it is part of their MMWR series. That's how things work. You created false expectations--straw men--to knock down.

Lol. The ol’ mmwr series routine. Very convenient. You must be the type that is easily influenced by commercials. Don’t worry, the cdc would never lie or blur the lines on the truth…

    Some people will never learn.

Nothing is hiding the fact that you can't support your accusations. If anything, you are clearly the one that doesn't understand the role of the CDC MMWR reports, which they have been publishing since 1982. They also publish an Emerging Infectious Disease Journal since 1995.

So just for the record, you think the vaccine alone is better than natural immunity? Simple yes/no question.

I'll answer. The scientific data has been mixed. So much data pointing one way. And plenty of data pointing the other. Makes it impossible to say which is better.

It's likely that eventually, we'll find out under what conditions, and what time frame, vaccine immunity is better. And what would cause natural immunity to be better. Likely the only way to reconcile the conflicting study results.

One way vaccine immunity is better is traceability. We know who was vaccinated, when, and with what vaccine. No such 100% accurate accountability with infections.

There you go trying to avoid my question with another question.

In any case, it's not about what I, you, or anyone else thinks. It's what a literature on the issue will eventually determine. Neither the unpublished Israeli study nor the CDC report are even close to the last word on this. They are merely the first.

You don’t know what you are talking about. Outside the fact I will say my kids are not getting any of these drugs…

Go read the last Public Health England report. The Public Health Scotland report.

The hard data is right there for you. I have posted them (Scotland was a few weeks ago England a couple days ago).

I don’t think that position is unfair. With this disease the best defense is being healthy and smart. After that these new drugs help in a therapeutic way. They are not helping to slow the spread.

The good news is we know who is at risk and we have different options for people to use in navigating this thing.

It is unreal that the public health officials continue to push the vaccine so hard while ignoring natural immunity. So hard they want to put it in 5-11 year olds and badly. And with this statement from one of the doctors voting to move forward…

"”I do think it's a relatively close call," said adviser Dr. Eric Rubin of Harvard University. "It's really going to be a question of what the prevailing conditions are but we're never going to learn about how safe this vaccine is unless we start giving it."”

My kids will not be part of a mass uncontrolled trial to see if the vaccine is safe for them for a disease that is of no danger to them. One set of grandparents had Covid 15 months ago. Coming to spend the weekend at our house. The other grandparents are fully vaccinated one with a booster the other is still considering I believe. I am far more worried about my wife’s parents who are the vaccinated grandparents but we just saw them at our place in Palm Coast and will see them again all week with my parents all week at our place in Palm Coast. My parents continue to give blood and are likely better protected.

FDA panel backs Pfizer's low-dose COVID-19 vaccine for kids

These public health officials have been awful at trying to get people to take these drugs. You make comments like that and ignore natural immunity and mandate the drug while ignoring natural immunity. All while pushing out boosters and discussing more boosters. You have created a distrust that honestly…is not salvageable most likely. It stinks this has happened.
