Remember, the claim is why are people reacting to this virus mandate differently given the other mandates. I'm fine with recognizing that this is different, but then we should cease with the questions about why people have problems with this vaccine mandate given the others that exist.

No. To be honest, I never thought of chickenpox as deadly at all. In looking it up, I bet you'd consider chickenpox more deadly for children when population is taken into consideration. I remember chickenpox as being something that was going to knock you on your but for at least a few days no matter who you were. COVID just isn't like that for children. And it appears that the most severe cases tend to be more predictable based on known markers.

So far immunity has shown pretty well. Ask your local medical facility how many documented cases of known reinfections they've had.

    Go GATORS!

Outlawing these things would only create a black market. There is no black market for COVID.

This one puts in the estimates with research included. Did not see anything on administering as that gets muddy but with 200 million times 2 the government is paying out a boatload more to have people inject the product.

For monoclonal the quick link misses the the research spent but I am confident that it was less costly to bring to market but more costly per patient. Good news is far fewer people demand it. And those that do are both vaccinated and unvaccinated.

You can look this up on your own.

England is 85% adult vaccinated. And they are just ending another surge in cases.

Many of the northeaster and northwestern states that are highly vaccinated just had the largest surges after vaccination. The New York Times is a great reference for this…

    What view is that?

I am not opposed to people taking either drug. I am opposed to forcing people to take a drug. And I am opposed to shaming people for making the best decision for their health.

There is a big difference when it comes to Regeneron and the vaccines though. I assume it might be what you are getting at. But a healthy person would not even consider Regeneron as it has no real purpose (I suppose a significant other who is healthy and living with someone who tested positive and seeking treatment might also seek treatment but I am not even sure if they would give it to them without a positive test?). It is used if you get sick. Vaccinated or Unvaccinated. The vaccine is a mass push out of a drug for a disease that is not that dangerous to most. Called a vaccine. I see it more as a potential therapeutic if you unfortunately get the disease. People should be able to make decisions accordingly…

    From the CDC:

Current covid case rates by vaccination status:
    Unvaccinated: 665.7
    Vaccinated: 113.7
    Unvaxxed to Vaxxed: 5.86X

Current hospitalization rates by vaccination status:
    Unvaccinated: 83.6
    Vaccinated: 4.5
    Unvaxxed to Vaxxed: 18.58X

Current death rates by vaccination status:
    Unvaccinated: 9.14
    Vaccinated: .74
    Unvaxxed to Vaxxed: 12.3x

Indisputable bottom line: Vaccines are incredibly effective.

We are in the worst pandemic since 1918 and you're still claiming this is not a dangerous virus?

What number of excess deaths would make this virus dangerous?

Yes, I wrote to monoclonal treatment because (in no particular order): 1) they are about 100-250 times more expensive per dose than vaccines 2) they are only in FDA Phase III

Fact is vaccines where possible have long been the central public health response to infectious disease because vaccines have worked incredibly to improve public health and limit the burden of sickness and death associated with infectious disease.

Indeed they are one of science's greatest achievements.

Excess deaths north of 800k, more than that with long term damage to their health. All from a disease that you claim to not be dangerous. And it would be much worse without vaccine and other mitigation. How many would have to die for you to consider it dangerous?

UK at 85% adult vaccinated is still only 70% total population. Add in 13% with natural immunity, and you still don't reach the 90% number believed to be v where herd immunity begins. 83% is also a best case scenario, because we don't know the overlap numbers of those who got COVID and the vaccine.

There is also plenty of evidence in the UK the vaccine is working. The unvaccinated in the UK, which is still a high enough percentage of the population to allow the virus to go unchecked, make up the majority of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.

Some more info on the vax trial on kids:

Key was zero reinfections from natural immunity. More evidence that natural immunity works better than the vaccine. Also, zero serious covid cases in either the vaccine group or the placebo group. So, heck, let's go ahead and shoot these kids up, that's the only way we will find out if this thing works...

I never said a thing about chickenpox. So, don’t write straw man arguments you expect to address. And stop the condescension and patronization. Especially when I have posted repeatedly about the nature of Coronaviruses in these threads. And when I ask you to post links concerning the Dubious scientific claims you keep making here. You can’t. You just shift to another immaterial argument. The vaccines being discussed here are for a Coronavirus. And they confer broad immunity and unvaccinated are 11 times more likely to be hospitalized than those who are vaccinated. Lots of links addressing both subjects here. Yet, you keep repeating the same things about the vaccine not working.

All this isn't too shocking when you realize the FDA is chock full of former pfizer big wigs.

    12.3

You two keep understating things! :)

Although that number might be down a little. I cited the latest CDC stats on it above but they haven't yet updated for September.

I think you are fair enough to know I have repeatedly said that this virus is not dangerous to many. And it is dangerous to some.

We have these vaccines for those that want to take them. We are going to be dealing with Covid for our lifetime. And yes Covid is not that dangerous to most. We know who it is dangerous to.

Time to start getting healthy. Time to start working on 2nd generation vaccines (instead we are just telling people to get a little bit of each current vaccine).

Stop trying to push new drugs onto healthy kids.

The best way to fight Covid is to get healthy. But many Americans are lazy and will just booster up for a couple months of better potential therapeutic protection. So much easier that way. The young and healthy are statistically at little risk from this disease.

I was responding directly to a post by @G8trGr8t who brought up chicken pox. So you try to stop changing the subject and ignore the links I did provide you.

Next time try to read what I responded to before making yourself look foolish.

I provided you links and the New York Times to source cases yourself…
