No joke. If he gets some better bend/flexibility, he looks like a legit player. It seems like it's been forever since we have had a 6'5" plus guy at end who can challenge every WR screen. Has surprising quickness and speed for his size. If we can't get a Jackson/Moss/Kelly/Jones/Wiggins, he would be a good project at worst.
in better news, I see Rivals forecasting Chris McClellan to UF Chris McClellan, 2022 Defensive tackle - Rivals.com
Oh well I guess that recruiting isn't very important to Mullen, at least not as important as recording his dancing moves.
Dude!!! Check out his film before you complain... He looks more athletic than lbs we took last year and is 6'5'' 240.
That's pretty much what's left at this point. As when picking up girls in the bar scene- go ugly early so that you get the best of the ugly. Very few high three and four stars are going to opt for UF given our circumstances and that our staff was likely late to the process. It's one thing if Nick Saban calls at the last minute if you are from the Southeast and committed to Oregon, and another at the moment if you are UF calling and could have been in the process for the past two seasons but for some reason couldn't find your way to Jax.
This is fascinating. He's from Oklahoma, a top guy at his position, and he might come to UF? Good for us if he signs.
I believe it's how our staff goes about recruiting, how they approach prospects, and how hard they work. I just don't believe that today's HS JRs and SRs have seen our staff around for the past few seasons. I don't believe our staff grows with the players. Maybe I'm wrong but if they do then it's another issue. It doesn't really matter and all we board talkers can do is speculate. But I have noticed bad signs since 2018. Who followed them here from their days at Miss St? How many DL did Grantham secure in his second class? Was a three DT third DL class really impressive? Yes, on paper we landed four but Jonnie Brown didn't have grades. Was it their third class that was gutted by non quals? How can a seasoned SEC staff let that happen? How can a seasoned UF worthy HC let that happen? Because they were reaching. They got caught with their hand in the lazy cookie jar. But why was a seasoned SEC staff with UF as a backdrop reaching in their third cycle? I would like to think the AD that hired him had some serious conversations with Mullen. That could have happened. But if it did, judging by where we are this cycle, Mullen didn't believe it mattered. Writing this, I am astonished the guy got a raise and a buyout clause. Unreal.
His high school competition is some kind of awful, so I don't even know what to think of his highlights and ranking.
He is extremely athletic for his size, but I think you are taking it a bit far against our LB. They are all very athletic. Now can they play LB? That is to be seen.
Sunseri was to blame for the DL shortcomings....he was awful and Turner has been a huge upgrade. I'm not sure 2 guys not qualifying gutted a 24 man class. And we knew Diwun was unlikely and planned accordingly, and he is here now. Arjei Henderson was a late pickup, they had a slot and took a flyer.
