Through the Bama game before we got injuries this season, we had way more push than at any time two years ago. The QB has nothing to do with that. Part of it is personality of the line, but I have to think the biggest part was personnel.
indeed. I believe had this OL been the one from last year, health aside, our offensive output would have been even greater. Heggie was solid at C, VERY solid, but Kingsley has been just as good if not better. If i could take Stone back for one more year and put him at RT, we’re undefeated
One OT short is a terrible place to be. Heggie was a great leader at C, and we miss that and was probably the difference in that UK game (multiple false starts were on Kingsley), but Kingsley can be really good. Heck, Leonard can be a great one too. He stepped in and did as well as you could expect for a third string at C.
Only other good thing about taking project guys is that they’ll be patient and work hard and wont be as liable to hit the portal as a higher rated prospect. In 4 years we’ve only had one OL that the staff recruited leave and that was Chris Bleich. TJ Moore was from the previous staff as was Nick Buchanan.
And that’s the key. This was the first game I’ve seen Braun on the left side of the line… he has always played RG or RT… we need more high quality OL at each position so we don’t have to play a RG at LG…
Reese has been pretty solid this year IMO. Braun too until the LSU game where he struggle. Truth be told, Delance was playing well till he got dinged
Ole Miss is playing their 2nd string Center snd 3rd string OG today and running all over LSU. UF ran well against patsies, now our OL has been poor against SEC talent. LSU and UK dominated us. We can’t play away from home.
