Gators not ranked in AP preseason poll

Ranked won't keep them from being rank. We'll know after the holidays, and so will everyone else. Keep in mind that Alabama didn't meet some of our fans standard for success going into January last year.

 

No votes. I think 7 or 8 SEC teams have ranking with some having votes.

 

Not surprised we're not ranked. I am surprised we didn't get 1 single vote.

 

Under the radar. good. if we play well the first 5 or so games, we may be ranked. If we don't, then we won't. We have so many new faces it'll be tough to gauge how good we are until we actually start playing

 

Beat #20 Florida State in the second game of the season. Maybe after then, Florida may be ranked.

 

We don’t deserve to be ranked, we need to prove it due to lack luster play not of a top twenty five team, we need to show them. Been losing to FSU since they became co-educational.
One day we will learn it is not just playing defense but being able to score consistently. Will we be chuck and duck or a well organize scheme to get guys open or open to reach the basket and finish. But we have to change our thinking, out score the other team and do our best to stop the other team. Just focusing on defense won’t be enough.
So no, we have got to earn our fans, the media and the nation, we are a force to reckon with.
Coach needs to earn his keep.

 

Too many questions as of right now. But the nice thing about basketball is that we will get plenty of opportunities to earn our way to the top.

 

Not ranked in football or basketball. Man, we're a long way from the title town days of the 06s through 08s.

 

It just works better for Gator Athletics to not have pre season rankings .

 

It is nice to have something to prove instead of proving someone right.

 

Not surprised either and I agree with my fellow posters, time will tell and quickly once they throw the ball up at mid court.

 

With all the turnover, this is the most mysterious Gator hoops team I remember. There's simply no way to estimate their quality, much which will depend upon cohesion.

 

And yes . . . . beat friggin' FSU for cripe sakes!

 

One thing I can say with confidence - this will be the best defensive team we have seen in several years.
I think it will prove a lot of folks wrong.
I also think it will be a very enjoyable team to watch.

 

Gators will be ranked in the week following their win over the Noles.
