And to my knowledge, i dont believe Braun went to any of those camps in the offseason to get more exposure
Good point about the MSU success. People fairly pointed out that none of his lines have been very good during this stint at Florida, there seemed to be some real holes in his recruiting and his previous success at Florida came when Addazio was added. I am encouraged by the progress we are seeing right now.
Oh no doubt but we're saying that had he been going to those camps, he def would be ranked higher because i mean, he's talented as heck
Just not as talented as reese or delance. A couple more years with Savage and hev and he's gonna be a monster.
Right. The right side started off great but has had a rough past few games. Seems like they’re always battling some sort of injury too which obvious affects their performance
By the end of the year (Mullen's first here)that was a very good OL. I don't think anyone would argue about that. Next year was meh at running with other guy's recruits. Covid year was all about pass pro, and was quite good. This year is potentially very good. I can't really agree that his lines haven't been good here.
I think this a a very cup half full take (no problem with that). But to simply say he couldn't coach up another regimes recruits? To give a pass for the entire run blocking for the year? And to be halfway through the season and still use the word potentially? We do have a good line, and they have done some good things. But when we needed them the most they let us down (along with many other parts of the team).
I'm sorry but if you thought a better coach was going to do better: he squeezed as much out of the run game as you were going to get out of Forsythe and Heggie (both with good technique and little push). That is why there has been so much angst about getting OL recruits. The left side of the line is just so much better at running this year with a healthy Gouraige, White and Eguakun. That OL 2 years ago had a limited ceiling if you had to run the ball. And yes, the team is on the OL shoulders this year. The team is only as good as the OL is disciplined.
Did I imagine it, or did Leonard and Mincey see more PT vs Vandy than they have all season (and not just mopup duty in the 2nd half)?
Id be willing to bet that team 2 years ago with a true runner at QB would have ran well. And the line last year as well. Maybe not as good as this year, but definitely better.
Possibly but they’ve had their struggles too. Good thing is, they’ll be WELLLLLL seasoned when they’re the full time starters next year. If Gouriage comes back next season, we basically return a starting 5 up front which helps with continuously giving the back ups time to adjust etc etc
