I don't think I'll get a lot of disagreements here but that's what the boards are for and I don't expect others to see the way I do just because I write it. IMO, though, a victory over the Noles would give one hell of a boost to our 21-22 season. I hate it has to be that way but they have won too many in a row and it's time for a change. What say you folks?
I feel like this bored has under respected the Noles over the last 4 years. It's driven me crazy. I 100% agree. I want that W.
I'm thinking the maturity on this team should give us an edge we have not had in the last few years. My biggest concern is lack of playing time together but to a certain extent we face this every season.
Yeah but also lost in Gainesville to them. It was a perfect opportunity to put two losses on UK last season as they won’t be a team that is down very often, but at least we beat them once. I could always count on football for payback but it seems that is out the window lately in regards to UK.
Hall - I gave it a "best Post Ever"! Great thread, and I hope fires up Gator Nation. Be a tremendous catalyst and confidence builder. Think our early season motto should be "whip the Noles"! Frankly I rank it as the UF basketball version of UF / UGA in football this year. MUST WIN!
I would add that the Gators have been a little slow starting seasons recently. Would be very encouraging to see some maturity on the court and a better start.
True - but a win is a win is a win at Rupp and I will take it and enjoy it! (I mean I DID! lol) Off topic a bit but the "Cheese" win in Rupp a few years ago was mighty sweet too!
It would be a great win early and give us fans hope that things are changing within the program. Looking over FSU’s roster they are going to be tough. I wouldn’t bet the house on it. LOL
Completely agree. I've been trying to temper my excitement for basketball season until I can see how we perform against the Noles.
Does FSU still have 10 players over 7'2"? They are rarely a good match up for us, so YES, a win would go a long way this year.
Add, tall guards also, 6’7”, 6’6”, 6’4”, they probably average out to the tallest team in America. I know they can’t all play at one time, I was just answering Manigordo’s questions. We better be ready to run up and down the court and wear them down.
That might be one of our best approaches to the game. As long as we don't start getting sloppy with the ball and that is a concern with Appleby.
You guys make it out like we will be the Toons without MJ playing the Monstars like in Space Jam. We will be fine as long as Bill Murray suits up.
