We all have been asked what are the thirteen Division I football schools where the team mascot does not end in "s". This one is different. As far as I know there are two women's team mascots at Division I football schools where the men's mascot ends in "s" and the women's mascot does not. Maybe there are more, but I know two of them. I helps if you are a women's volleyball fan.
The men's nickname ends in "s", but the women's nickname does not. @WESGATORS sent me a PM with one of them. I told him the other one that I know of.
The University of Hawaii men’s teams are the Rainbow Warriors. The women’s teams are the Rainbow Wahine.
Can't recall his name right off but Channel 4 (I think) out of Jax used to have a sports anchor who would take random questions sent in by viewers that pertained to sports. It was basically attempts to stump him on sports related knowledge. He didn't get stumped very often and had a head full of info.
OK, I will give up the other one that I know: USC Women of Troy versus the men's Trojans. Are there other ones?
Miami calls the men's the Hurricanes. If they don't even have much of a women's sports program would they even have a mascot that ends in s. I jest of course.
