lol it was just a realization before the season started in mid summer that Hev’s not going anywhere and Mullen isn’t letting Hev go so why not just look at it from a different set of lens you know? I still feel 2022 is going be the best OL we’ll have here at UF even though this year’s group is setting the bar VERY high

lol right. He’s played solid so far this year. What he struggled with last year, he’s gotten better at that without a doubt. Even when he doesn’t win a rep, it hasn’t been the killer that it was last year.

All of the OL are great at getting to the second level in the run game too

Crazy what a running QB will do for a system that was created for a running QB!

Too many quality offensive linemen will never be a problem

To have too many offensive linemen means you compensate by having too few at other positions. I'd rather have a balanced approach so that you don't have glaring overages or shortages in any of the positions. Taking quality +1s are always going to occur when they are available. That is different than overloading at a position and underloading elsewhere.

Before the dust settles, I'm guessing Mullen will take that action. Those here who can't/won't accept that there are scarcity of resources in college football recruiting/roster building will not understand and likely will complain loudly when reality sets in with them. Think Bobby and KAS have been inoculated for that virus strain. Time will tell.

The new NCAA rule allowing 32 instead of 25 in 22 will be a big help, but teams have to stay below the 85 limit. The NCAA rules committee is working on a permanent rule allowing up to 32 every year with the requirement that the 7 over 25 is used to replace transfer portal out players. Look for that to happen in the near future.

UF should put grade B OL on the field every year with hopefully a few A's sprinkled in. Mullen has established his OL recruiting numbers and is taking players he wants to develop almost to the point UF can be on cruise control with OL recruiting so long as there are no significant injury losses or OL leaving the team early, NFL or transfer portal out for PT. That's where the adjustments in recruiting needs to be made based on prospective changes coming up for the next season.

See my posts 128 & 131 in this thread.

I was right on 21 and I think I'll be right on future OLs and especially so as you are already conceding 22.

I may be off on OL numbers for 22 , 15-16, but I won't be off by much.

Balance won’t be a problem. That’s what the portal is for, dead weight will go out.

I think he is better in blocking for the run than in pass pro, but the pass pro is aided by the running abilities of EJ and AR. If DE pin their ears back and rush all out, EJ and AR are 15 yards downfield with no risk of a turnover. DE are forming a pocket instead of getting to EJ.

I wonder if it will change in the future....our dead weight that goes out is also a potential dead weight at another program coming in. Not everyone in the portal is a stud from another team.

They go where they can see the field is all. Third year and not in the two deep is time to think.

    2022 really? Good! But really?

BTW, no surprise the Florida fsu OL commits may visit. They have one or two from central/South Georgia as I recall. I wish we could go after them. Really, surprisingly, Hevesy’s OL looks good enough to brag about to recruits. He could wear a cape and a king’s crown and tall down to them on visits. Whatever. Just get them on campus. UF rawks!

Why not Die? I think the offensive line is on fire, gaining momentum and justifying CDM's decision to stay the course with HEV.

Look - the guy has warts, as has been discussed ad nauseam here, but what we fans are currently enjoying is nothing short of incredible. Unreal when one compares it to last year.

Gotta give credit where it's due and 322 on the ground deserves a tip of the cap.

That’s the beauty of having mobile QBs that turn potential sacks into positive gains.

Loved how number 4 of TN wanted no part of Braun and ran away as he approached. Braun is super intelligent OL and playing well. Not getting pushed around, strong kid, maintains block, pulls well. Imagine what he will play like next year with starting experience and another year of development. Looks like he will play in the NFL someday.

It turns out I was confusing him with someone else.

But seriously—Bobby has gone soft? Traitor.
