Stuffed bell peppers tonight. Using chopped up peppers tops, onion, and dirty rice with ground round as the filling and some Paul Newman's marinara on top. I grew up with some cheese on top, but my wife vetoed that idea.

Ms. Jan requested another round of bone-in country cut ribs. No changes on this-seasoned with coarse black pepper and Everglades seasoning-grilling indirect over cherry wood smoke, and yes Pat’s Homade on the last two turns.

We are cleaning out the leftovers tonight-pinkeye peas w/snaps, okra, petite butter beans and whole kernel yellow corn w/green & red bell peppers. There will also be a pan of scalloped potatoes.

Outstanding day today cutting the grass-78*/ no humidity/ and a pleasant breeze. Ice cold longnecks and chilled wine on the back porch this afternoon and evening are available.

I also mowed my very long lawn today. Ran over something that wrapped up and had a weight about six inches out causing a lot of vibrations so I had to stop and let everything cool down to address the issue.

Also washed the kitchen floor. Our cleaning folks are on hiatus.

It's very noticeable the drop in both temp and humidity. Is fall really on it's way?

Just watched the 1-2pm Gunsmoke on ME-TV. I always try to watch it each day while getting a bite and re-loading for the second shift.

Today was a treat with Anthony Zerbe guest starring. He's always been a fav. of mine. Interesting persona. He's still with us too.....

Check out what followed me home last night. All the way from Lakeland. It's a '77 R75/7. I already have a '76 R90/6 but like this new one better.

Tonight we’re putting together a southwest chicken dish. I’ll pressure cook boneless skinless chicken breasts and shred them up into a large pan. Added in will be Zatarain‘s Black Beans and Rice, a chopped up green bell pepper, Mexican style corn, and Rotel tomatoes. For the water the recipe calls for I’ll use the chicken broth created in the pressure cooker.

Tostitos scoops and shredded Tex-Mex cheese for those who want that.

Ice cold longnecks and chilled wine are ready to go on the back porch.

    That sounds awesome, Bill!

Can you elaborate on the Tex-Mex cheese please when you get a minute? Make your own or buy it like this?

I buy it Baz—we prefer the Sargento brand—to us it has a “full flavor” taste to it. Our next door neighbor who happens to be third generation Italian has convinced me not to squeeze pennies when it comes to tastes in our cooking i.e., Barilla pasta instead of store brand, Sargento cheeses instead of store brand, etc.

Tonight is tacos. I made a tomatillo/avocado salsa with serrano peppers to go on it and will also have diced tomatoes and onion as toppings.

Pork shoulders (butts) were on sale so tomorrow I will smoke one for pulled pork. Carolina vinegar slaw to go with it. Probably get some Sonny's baked beans as they are the best thing they make and a lot less work than making my own.

I thought that we had some hamburger buns for pulled pork sandwiches, but we don't have enough and they are too good. They are Nature's Own whole wheat buns. For some reason really dreadful buns are the best for pulled pork sandwiches so I usually use Ball Park hamburger buns. They are the Wonder Bread of hamburger buns. They are so bland so that they do not interfere with the porky goodness of what is inside. Truth be told I just put some pulled pork and Carolina slaw on a plate and forego the bun entirely, but the other folks I cook for want it on a bun.

What if Cracker Barrel had more Italians working for them than Sargento though......maybe time to re-consider? :emoji_cheese:

Actually I’ve never seen where anyone here carries Cracker Barrel cheeses…..It’s a top shelf cheese IMHO so I would have no problem using it al all.

Oh, I remember it at home growing up and other different places-it’s just here in Marianna you’ve got three choices on cheese-store brand, Kraft, and Sargento.

Tonight we’re going to have spaghetti, a fresh Romaine salad topped with vine ripe tomatoes and are making some Parmesan cheese bread out of Texas toast.

A little warmer today at 84* but still low humidity so quite pleasant outside. The back porch is fully restocked with our favorite adult libations for the football Saturday.

My slightly more than five pound pork shoulder has been smoking for a bit more than six hours and some is done and other bits are not quite done. I figured about another hour anyway.

I am not a motorcycle head, but many years ago i rode the Six Gap route on bicycles with a friend and he saw a Honda moto that was not one you would ever see.

I wish that I can remember it.

Tonight I’ll be grilling hamburger steaks from a freshly ground boneless chuck roast.

Inside we will have a fresh pot of green beans and new potatoes along with a mess of stewed yellow squash and vidalia onions.

Ms. Jan will be making some cheese biscuits to go along with.

We’re having continued pleasant weather and the back porch is up for business so come on over and we’ll enjoy each other’s company.

My wife is making a whole lot of veggie stir fry tonight as we have company and there is a strict vegetarian coming. My carnivore son has already eaten a huge plate of pulled pork and will join us for dinner to eat rice.

There are some really cool Honda bikes out there. I like the older ones mostly - the classics and vintage machines.

Got a Honda as first bike in many many years back in '97. '87 VFR 700 Interceptor.

It was only offered in white and blue that year. Mine was a white with a yellow respray and really looked snazzy!

I have some better photos but here's one with the Targa top off my '81 911SC sitting on it. You can see my 911 left front in the pic. I put a front spoiler (air dam really) on it. Also, the fairings are not on my bike in this photo. I try and get a better one up....
