If move to 0-4 after Louisville tomorrow, everyone will be jumping ship.

WFU may be the best team in the ACC which may not be saying much!

My Dad was born in Winston-Salem, rip.

Dave Clawson - Football Coach - Wake Forest University Athletics

Clawson, WF HC, is one of the best Head Coaches in college football. Has won everywhere he has been, and has not taken the easy route. Look at the way his teams improved from when he took over to departure at Fordham, Richmond, Bowling Green and now Wake. Multiple Conf Coach of year awards and shatters school records on offensive side of the ball. One of smartest coaches as well. Williams is one of top private colleges in world. Clawson does not have the national reputation of some, but should be on the short list for every HCing search IMO. FSU and Miami would be winning now, if he had been their hire.

I know it’s Wake, but slow down a bit. Dude is decent, but they did go 4-5 last year, but got a bowl invite. Of course, they lost that too. After beating FSU, all of a sudden talks of Wake maybe being the best team in the ACC. Ridiculous! smh :emoji_rolling_eyes:

Yeah he’s basically solid - will get the best out of the players he can get, but they all know the deal: 4 wins should be automatic, 6 wins is solid, 7-8 is great, anything above that and they’re giving a big contract. He’s still being paid $2.1m/year so it’s a great bang for the buck for what they want to do, but he hasn’t gotten that big contract yet so do the math on his overall success. Grobe before him won the ACC one year and had 11 wins so it’s not impossible considering how bad the ACC usually is, this may be Clawson’s year to do that.

ACC is down this year because Clemson doesn’t look like a world beater, but I wouldn’t pick Wake as a contender above NC State or Virginia Tech at this point.

Very good coach, but he's at the exact type of program where he's likely to reach his potential.

He'd get destroyed by the expectations at FSU, scUM, or any other with inflated aspirations. Not enough sizzle for the bigger programs.

They’ve got 2 more coming. I’d love to hear NorveLLLL sell a kid on that.

They need to keep getting blown out instead of losing close ones. I can see a guy like Hunter being sold he would be a difference maker in all these close losses. Now if they start losing by double digits I'd imagine it would be a pretty hard sell given their trajectory. I don't care what happens to their class but id like to see that guy go anywhere other than there or georgia

hunter is going to FSU regardless of on field play or even if there was a coaching change. He is a legacy and loyal at that.

it would be like me or some die hard gator fans still going to UF no matter what.

With him I agree but we have many instances of legacies going to rival schools. Our own Dante Fowler came from an fsu legacy.

Hunter doesn’t matter, it’s the class as a whole that matters. If the other quality commits leave and it’s just Hunter and a bunch of 2 and 3 stars then they will still be garbage for a while.

Dont een care if Hunter goes there. Rather him stick with FSU then get itchy feet and start talking with Bama/UGA.

At this point I would rather these recruits stick with fsu then go to uga or bama. Fsu is going to waist them.

exactly. We’re talking about a team that is going to win 3-4 games max and you STILL, as a top player, wanna go there and not even TALK to other schools? I get being loyal, and that’s actually commendable, but jeez

Well then he better enjoy being coached up to being a 5th rounder. The guy is going to cost himself a bunch of money.

when the gators went 4-8 under Muschamp and he was coming back as the coach…. I imagine you wouldn’t have thought our highest rated recruits should come to UF? Should Teez Tabor (5 star) and Will Grier have bailed? Or would you think and hope our coaches could sell them on righting the ship? Hell, those were out of state recruits and not legacies and fans of UF. Some kids want to go to a school regardless of coach or record. Even elite kids. The elite of the elite will get to nfl either way. They may sacrifice winning but would rather go to their childhood favorite. Unlike most kids these days, Hunter has a “dream school” and is going to attend it no matter what.
