The best I can say?
You think Donald is "a product of the NFL" and his style of play doesn't translate well to the college game". You logic seems to be that he weighs 285 and Pitt's record wasn't great.
The fact he was a unanimous All American, ACC defensive player of the year, won the Bednarik Award, won the Nagurski Trophy for best defensive player in the country, won the Outland Trophy for best interior lineman in the country doesn't seem to register with you.
You are right, "I don't see any way WE can or will agree on this". But let's be clear, WE is not just me. We is every person on the planet that follows football.

Just hard for me to believe that’s the best offer he got. Houston was a senior, while Chatfield had three years left. I get that the timing was bad.

 

Chatfield might have 3 years left, but he's gonna be a 5th year guy by next season. I think he's just a product of being a tweener.

 

Yep, and Sapp and Boone from this year's class are also in line for that spot (but don't be surprised if one or both move inside eventually).

 

You are correct, I mis spoke he was also behind Bogle.

 

But he could play both DE and Buck, so that means he wasn't in the two deep for either position, and at DE Uman only got 2 snaps against Bama and at Buck Bogle only got 14 snaps. So in big games Chatfield was unlikely to get any snaps. He is a victim of our having a very young secondary that consistently needs to be protected with QB pressure, which we were able to do against Bama.

 

I know life is not fair, but that is just not fair.

 

He drove to that game! No one checking birth certificates in that league.

 

His performance is even more impressive when you consider how hungover he was.

 

I wouldn’t want my kid playing against him, that’s for sure.

 

A lot of youth leagues have a weight limit to play defense. Judging from his size, he takes up about 4 defenders.

 

Can we offer him immediately?!!

 

So Jalen Lee saw his 1st game action last week and is now listed 2nd on the depth chart against UK. That puts him ahead of The Mountain and Truesdale and gives us 6 game-ready DTs for the rest of the season. Would be nice to see Goods, Humphries, or Thomas get some PT this year, maybe in mop-up duty vs FSU in the 2nd quarter or something like that.
