Actually yes, double masks would work better. That’s not a bad suggestion at all…

If 2 masks are better than 1, then screw it, let’s make it 4. That’s about as “sciencey” as masking kids in schools.

Perhaps we’ve identified the issue here. You do understand how a mask is constructed, right? Multiple overlapping layers. the more layers you add, the more filtration. So yeah, two masks would add double the layers thus additional filtration.

Now that you understand the basics of how a mask works, combined with you acknowledging your charts are bullshit, you think maybe you can agree a mask adds more protection than no mask?

Too funny. Just mask everyone 8 times and glue them on. No big deal. Let’s keep pushing masks that don’t work, but hey, as long as you and the rest of the coronabro’s think they do, then have fun. The rest of the US has figured out the BS. Enjoy your basement and the 8 masks skippy.

Here is a really bad chart of drug overdoses for the past 4 years. The increases from covid happening is quite alarming. This is a very serious epidemic that needs to be addressed. I don’t know exactly what to do, but the status quo isn’t the answer.

Actually, it's kind of dumb and unnecessary and will just make less people wear masks. Just wear one well fitted N-95 mask and that's all you'll need. Just be sure they aren't the ones with the vents.

I’m not actually recommending it. I know, an N95, KN95, KN94 are all better options than double masking. Also abundantly available at this stage. I was fighting snark with snark. For the record I’m also not gluing 8 masks to my face, hiding in my basement, nor am I recommending either of those either. Based on the way a 3-ply mask is constructed, it’s pretty dumb to tell someone to instead wear 6 layers as an insult though. That’s what I was responding to.

This is a tragedy, and has nothing to do with COVID. It highlights that sad state of parenting, mental health and social/economic problems in our country. COVID is a disease brought on by infection through exposure to a virus.....it caused none of those things.

The lockdowns definitely increased the numbers. Not sure how someone could argue otherwise. The increase correlates almost exactly with when the US shut down when the pandemic hit.

I don’t know buckaroo. Kind of looks like the pre-Covid numbers from 2020 were already higher than any point of 2019, which was trending up all year. Wheels were in motion, the trend line shows it. Why are they so high for 2021? We still under lockdown? I thought you were out there living your life and all that good stuff.

One mask is suffocating enough, so no on 2. Maybe in the cooler months ahead. I actually did like the masks in the colder months watching football in the stands. But all of the time? That would get old very quickly. And now you have to maintain multiple masks (disposing of both daily or washing daily).

I guess you don't know how to read a chart. That's ok, just ask for help and someone will show you. 5+ weeks into 2020 cases were at the same point as the end of 2019. But hey, maybe reading charts isn't your thing. Maybe we can find out something you are good at. Let me know.

And why are they so high for 2021? No idea, maybe it's the constant Coronabros telling everyone they are going to die from something that anyone under 50 has a 99%+ chance to survive? But thanks for adding to the riveting conversation.

Still trying to be funny. Still failing. But i like the effort. You are like the little kid on my son's basketball team that just couldn't do anything right, but never gave up. Something to be said for those types of people who aren't good at something yet keep trying.

Ah, I see the problem, we must be looking at different charts. 0-5 on my chart clears the 1400 mark, 2019 never cleared that number. So yeah, on my chart 2020 pre lock down was higher than any point of 2019. I guess it’s different on yours, weird cause I looked at the one you posted. Crazy, I know! Right?!?! Either they’re different or you just can’t get a point across without misrepresenting the info, I dunno, so weird!

Again, This looks like this just isn't your thing. It's ok. I'll try to not post too many graphs in the future since you can't understand them. Might be too many colors or movement, not sure which is so confusing for you. I'm here to help. Help me help you.
