But see, herein lies a good example why I waited and perhaps wish I had waited longer.

    Information.

I got the Pfizer and at the time it seemed the way to go, but I now really wish I had gotten the Moderna based on recent info.
My parents both got JJ early on and wish they had chosen one of the others.

I understand time being of the essence, but THIS, this is why we should not judge those waiting for the most info possible.

I don't mean conspiracy theorists or lie-mongers, but the many people who are just unsure and have been waiting.

I don’t trust the government and it’s the government who has the final say on ANY thing that goes on in that country no matter how good the scientists are or what they say.

Got it, and not meant as argumentative. Was just wondering about the perspective. Thanks.

I haven't seen many discussions over FDA senior leadership resigning over the Biden administration pushing covid booster shots?

The administration shouldn't be pushing the FDA. I can only imagine the level of fatigue and stress inside the FDA and CDC. I imagine they hoped for less political pressure under the current admin, and are now at their wits end.

I read somewhere reputable that there's a good chance the Moderna vaccine is more protective as time goes on, not because of the quality of the shot vs. Pfizer, but because the Moderna shot is greater in volume and it is a larger dosage than Pfizer. If that's the case then the 3rd Pfizer shot theoretically should be good for waning protection

there are 2 studies in Moderna vs Phizer. One is from Mayo Clinic (Minnesota study). One is foreign (Belgium?).

I had the Moderna sequence. It kicked my tush; 102 fever the next day.

    Strong immune reaction.

This proves to me how poorly we have explained these vaccines and the goals/purpose of the vaccines. And, I mean not just to the poor or uneducated, but to virtually everyone. People who don't understand (including me largely) are characterizing things as "better" or "preferrable" or "failure vs success" and almost everyone one of them(us) is wrong. The media is screwing this up. The dis-information people are screwing this up and our lack of leadership and unity amongst our "leaders" (or at least idiots we elect) is greatly damaging this process.

The FUNDAMENTAL principle of a vaccine, any vaccine using any platform, is to introduce the human immune system to a virus or virus piece or non-living bacteria that the body has not been exposed to before. We do this to "teach" the immune system and prepare it for the day it is exposed to the actual replicatable virus or live bacteria. In so doing, when that next exposure comes the immune system reacts quicker and lessens the impact of infection caused disease (NOTE: No vaccine ever has been intended to prevent infection, but to prevent or lessen the impact of disease.....not Hepatitis, not Polio and not Corona Virus). People became too excited with the initial success of the mRNA vaccines in so powerfully overwhelming the virus with ultra high (possibly unhealthy high) neutralizing anti-bodies that they actually protected against infection, not just disease.....but that is not sustainable. Just like other vaccines, just like natural infection, the sera levels in your blood eventually revert to normal and your protection against infection goes virtually away because the antibodies go away until needed again.

Each vaccine that has been approved checks all of the boxes, even some of the ones not approved in the US. Are there differneces on how they do it? Is the potential durability of their heightened and then long term protection uncertain? Sure, but there is no bad option except not be vaccinated and risk severe disease, long term health problems or death. And yes, there is tiny number of people who react poorly to the vaccines, but that is true about EVERY single drug or vaccine known to the human race.

We have all said from the very beginning that after only 20 months of studying the virus, treatments and vaccines, we were never going to have all of the answers. However, everything that we do understand should be packaged, propagated and explained to everyone over and over and help them understand what we are trying to do here.....which in the end, is to prevent death from this virus AND prevent death from other things because our hospitals are overwhelmed due to this virus.

I tried to make a similar point here. I'm sure you've said it before but until I read this article I really didn't get it.

Coronavirus in the United States - news and thoughts

I didn't really get that antibodies aren't permanent, and the vaccines primary object is not to produce antibodies, but long term protection. But that long term protection usually takes 3-5 days to kick in. Many of the more traditional diseases that we vax take longer than that for the infection to incubate. But covid, flus, colds are fast incubating so we may get infected faster than 3-5 days, but still the body beats down the infection after that.

The fact that antibodies subside is totally necessary and natural. It doesn't mean the vaccines don't work.

The idea is that during the first period of infection, your system recognizes the virus, kicks in, and defeats it before it takes too strong of a hold on yoU and you get real sick. Hence, you don’t know you are infected or you have mild symptoms.

But certainly you see why people might have waited. This is important info that to most folks is pretty new.
I was being told I was selfish and endangering children, when had I waited a little longer, I could have made a better choice that theoretically would protect more people longer.

I am fine with my Pfizer jab, but this is why calling people terrible things for just showing patience is wrong. (Not aimed at you Duchen - You are actually one of the posters that put helpful data into this forum aiding my decision.)

Another good article on short and long term effects of vaccine. Very well written and addresses most of the skepticism and disinformation out there. Antibodies wane, as they are supposed to, but memory cells provide long term protection, and evidence to date is that is still working robustly.

One interesting thing I haven't heard. In those instances, like in some Israeli studies where vaccine effectiveness vs severe illness may have declined, it isn't clear whether that is reduced effectiveness, or now the non vaccinated comparison group has some natural immunity from infection. In theory if everyone had already been infected and had natural immunity, the vaccines would not appear to be effective.

The article is a bit skeptical of the need for boosters for most. It is possible they will give a short term antibody boost, but it isn't clear if they will give more long protection. For people with immune system issues, they are likely to be helpful.

The Government and CDC Are Lying About COVID-19 Vaccine and Ivermectin; The Question Is Why? (townhall.com)

First, are you aware that anyone who dies within 14 days of getting vaccinated is considered "unvaccinated"? No wonder they claim everyone who is dying is unvaccinated. If you die from COVID-19, whether you're vaccinated or unvaccinated, they just call you unvaccinated.

The CDC has also been using stats of COVID-19 deaths going back to January to make the claim that the deaths are almost exclusively among the unvaccinated. That's because earlier in the year almost everyone was unvaccinated. That's called rigging the numbers. The CDC must be using the same Democrats who rigged and stole the 2020 election.

But everything changed. Today a massive COVID-19 outbreak has engulfed vaccinated Israel. Hospitals are full. People are dying. At this moment, Israel, the most vaccinated nation in the world, has more COVID-19 infections per capita than any country in the world.

The vaccine isn't just failing, it's a spectacular fail. It wore off. It no longer works. And just as my holistic doctor friends predicted, it makes the next wave far worse. These doctors say vaccinated people are far more contagious; they carry heavier viral loads and are far more susceptible to getting severe illness than someone with "natural immunity."

This experiment with an "experimental, emergency-use-only" vaccine is a great big failure. A dangerous and deadly failure.

Worse yet, the same government, CDC and media are trying desperately to denigrate and slander the drug that is most successful in treating COVID-19. It's called ivermectin. In my next column, I'll show you conclusive proof from around the world that ivermectin is miraculously effective versus COVID-19.

Something is very wrong. It sure seems like someone is scared you might actually recover from COVID-19, doesn't it?

I've always believed they lied about the death count between the unvaxed and vaxed.

Agree. Wayne Allyn Root is a right-wing nut case. If he is ever sued he would be the perfect candidate for the Tucker Carlson defense, effectively used by Fox, i.e. he is not a journalist and no reasonable person would take him seriously. Getting back to the subject of his column, Root completely ignored the fact that over 90% of patients hospitalized with severe cases of Covid are unvaccinated. Seems to any logical person that alone would be more the enough evidence that the vaccine is effective at preventing severe cases of Covid. By the way Root cited Israel and conveniently omitted that even with the increase in infections among the vaccinated, it is still effective at preventing severe cases and that a third shot (booster) significantly increases its effectiveness. If the CDC and FDA are to be criticized it's for the delay in formally approving the use of the booster in the US where we are months behind Israel.
