Jitoboh Streamlines Focus, Waistline - Florida Gators

"He is under 300 pounds (and to repeat, the running portion of the preseason hasn't even begun) and now and is shooting for a sub-290 weigh-in down the line."

Jitoboh might be able to put in some good minutes in 21/22. With his focus and the help he is has been getting one on one, he could be a skinny 270 ;) by the time the season starts. At 6'11", that's just about right for a big 5 to be able to run the floor and contribute.

Well, this is encouraging. I had just about given up hope on him.

JJ is getting there. Keep the calories down, maybe even intermittent fasting, which means nothing after seven and skip one meal a day, I like to skip breakfast, then not eat till 11:00 am, ketosis starts working on removing fat before you get to eleven. You can do it. The day you weigh in, fast the whole day till you get on the scales. You can do it and you can provide good minutes for the team and be the force that the SEC fears. Do it for the team and your self, a life lesson that will change you. Success with controlling weight will translate into more minutes and improving your game. We, the Gator Nation, are all pulling for you. Go Jason and Go Gator Basketball!

He’s been running for the dinner bell for quite some time. Nobody is going to mistake him for Manute Bol, that’s for sure.

I like me some meat on the bone. When we played Tennessee last year, they tried to drive the middle with Jason in there, nope, they ran into the big guy and fell down. If he has lost some weight and now is pushing to lose more, all good. If we could get him to get a scowl on his face, growl when opposing teams get near him and trash talk like Shack, he could just take the ball from them and laugh, “try that again fool”!

Never exactly encouraging in BB when threads are about weight and weight loss. Stokes comes to mind.

Difference is Jitoboh actually did something about it. Let’s hope it pays off!

The team seems to be hitting the weights hard with noticible results. I've alwsys been concerned that guys can lose basketball skills if not done right. I really hope they have done more than look pretty.

I would say the most encouraging thing is, Mike gave him direction and he apparently has taken it. Maybe it will catch on.

I was impressed with his attitude last season. Even when he wasn't playing he was the #1 cheerleader from the bench. CMW loves his basketball IQ. Perhaps getting serious with his conditioning, some of Castleton's progress will rub off on him.

Guys, really? Joakim could run like a greyhound! Jitoboh runs like Uncle fit him with a pair of concrete boots! We’ve had plenty of mediocre to average bigs that we can hope Jitoboh can improve his level to but to hope he has a Joakim type improvement is laughable.

As long as Jitobah can run faster than he did last year, a lot of us will be happy.

Definitely some positive developments. If his foot can withstand all the pre-season running and he's 285 to start the season (and has even an ounce of lateral quickness), he can bit a legit 5 backup for us

Or if CC's shooting is as improved as rumored, maybe go big the occasional lineup with Castleton as a stretch 4 and JJ at the 5.
    A man can dream...
