OT Jacob Hood will announce his college choice on Next Monday (August 30)at 1 PM EST. The Gators are among his top 7, UF has made large strides in a short time despite their late entry to the Hood recruiting, however they have not been able to get Hood to visit UF.
You have to wonder why we are so late getting in on these players. He isn't coming here if he hasn't visited.
I get the size means a lot, but he doesn't look like he moves real well, and could be a liability running the ball if he can't get leverage. Would you choose Hood over Nonar?
Yea I think you’re the one that has pointed that out on more than one occasion about Hood and I see it now with his HUDL video Nonar looks more athletic to me and I’d venture to say he is more athletic to the eye test
This happens a lot with this staff when it comes to recruiting, don't know if its because of lack of personnel or other reasons.
Which means almost nothing. FSU had a lot of higher rated players a few years ago that proved to be much below their ranking. A lot of ranking is political, based on the fanbases that contribute to a web site's subscriber base: to keep them happy and paying. When you get in the top 100 there is much closer correlation of ability to ranking. Once you get out of the top 200, and especially with OL, there isn't much reason to look at the rankings because they just haven't been seen by the web site's analysts enough for them to have a well-educated opinion.
Yeah, sorry to be repetitious. He could end up like Forsythe who had lead feet as a recruit. He had similar size and ended up pretty good for us but was not really ready until his 4th year.
indeed but I’m and so many others ate calling him to UGA. i was going to say their OL recruiting this cycle has been spotty but after the haul they brought in last year and this being a down year for OL in the state of Georgia, I understand it more
They're also a couple years out from having the Arky head coach as their OL coach. l would expect there would have been no let up if he had stayed put at Uga.
I’m only 6’3” but it’s know what it’s like to go from 5’9” to 6’1” in six months. Coordination takes a while to catch up. That’s probably one reason these big boys are so hard to predict. It’s really hard to say which one will be coordinated in four years. I couldn’t even dribble for a while. The distance from the ground changed on me.
