No it isn't rare. Lots of kids are getting infected and spreading it.

 

It’s something that isn’t discussed in the media hardly at all. But hey, I guess telling one off stories is more important.

 

Compared to who? Not adults. We’ve been over this countless times. Kids don’t spread Covid nearly like adults. And yes, the story that NC told is conjecture at best.

I’m glad you’re a vaccine advocate. Because it’s not altogether clear with your posting.

 

If that is your point then fine, but quit using it as a counterpoint to completely unrelated subjects.

Early on, we just didn't know a lot. It wasn't clear how much long term immunity having covid would give especially with variants. There were reports of reinfections. It wasn't clear if a mild case gave as much immunity as a severe case. It wasn't always clear who had been infected and whom hadn't.

I'm not sure that all of those issues have been definitively solved either, but whatever.

Finally, what difference does it make now? In the US we have plenty of vaccine at the moment, and weve had plenty for months. The sequencing issue may have been relevant for 3-4 weeks. It could be relevant for other countries that are not far along in the vaccine curve.

So there is no reason to keep bringing this up, even if it is true. It is irrelevant at least for the US. I suspect you keep harping on it is in your mind this somehow makes the vaccines seem comparatively less effective, and anything to that end is good thing in your delusional tribal bubble.

 

You keep thinking natural immunity is no big deal. I’ll provide the data showing it is a big deal. But hey, I get that doesn’t fit the narrative. Have to stay on vaccine everyone, babies and all, who cares about that silly FDA approval.

 

Once again you come back with an irrelevant argument. Yes adults are more vulnerable and spread it more. But kids do spread it. The fact that adults spread it more is beside the point.

In a pandemic the idea is minimize the spread as much as reasonably possible.

Can’t help it some people aren’t smart enough to read. I got vaccinated at the first available time and have said anyone over 18 should get vaccinated. Under 18 Is a different story in my opinion.

 

So your plan is to say screw it, vaccinated newborns and everyone. Got it. Glad you aren’t in charge.

Of course we need to vaccinate babies. We don't want to get covid when we eat them.

 

I never missed a day work since the start. I liked it better with the lock down.

 

Children tend not to spread the wild type of COVID. But Delta is different. Kids catch it at a much higher rate, which is why more are in the hospital now. And while studies have not been completed yet, Delta's higher transmission rate suggests children do act as spreaders of the virus.

You cited a study comparing babies to older children. Both babies and children don’t transmit Covid like adults. This data has been out for over a year.

 

As of today, 8/26, the official number of deaths on the 18th was 66. That's kind of a massive change from what was first reported on the 19th.

Yesterday we set a new record for daily new cases, so it is likely that deaths are going to continue to go up for another two weeks or so. But the official reports are going to make it look like deaths have been dropping for the last week or two.

 

This report is on the wild type of COVID-19. Delta spreads much faster, and has a R0 several times higher. Research hasn't completed yet, but it stands to reason with more kids catching delta than the wild type because it spreads so fast, kids are part of the spread.
