Presymptomatic yes. And that is an issue. Asymptomatic is likely very rare.

First...allergies or cold like symptoms are symptomatic. What makes this virus dangerous is the presymtomatic.

Healthy people do not spread the virus as they do not have the virus.

@tilly I meant to mention RFK Jr in my earlier response to you about anti-vaxxers on the left. RFK Jr is #1 on the list, having driven antivaxxism, though most of the folks I know on the left are severe critics of him, including several of his family members.

So your whole point was that people that don't have COVID...don't spread COVID?

I agree that skinnier doesn't mean healthy or even healthier (there are a number of known metrics that could be used as markers), BUT the purpose of the outward appearance scale is to identify appearances that may be identified as "unhealthy." Does there exist a similar scale for humans that could be used to identify a unanimous indication among doctors of an "unhealthy" disposition? I would suggest yes, but I'd also leave it to the experts. Just my opinion.

I think it's a useful discussion to have when we consider what standards we should hold people to, if not anything else, to decrease burden and overall healthcare costs...or to assign known increase costs to select parties. *If* we are looking at going that route with vaccinations, the question is, what else should be taken into consideration either in conjunction (if it would get more people on board) or perhaps even as the next issue considered. Mind you, for me I would have to look at it as incentive as I would not fall into the discount range on that dog chart! :)

It will be interesting to see how many boosters before they are able to get to the next generation. :)

The point is healthy people do not spread the virus. Vaccinated or Unvaccinated.

There are an awful lot of vaccinated spreading this thing right now.

I'm just confused as to why you feel the need to point out a completely obvious fact. It's just odd.

Because you get the feel that only the unvaccinated are the problem from some.

I don't know that "an awful lot" is accurate though Q. Certainly, breakthroughs happen, but it is a small percentage of the whole thing.

They are the problem in that they have zero resistance to catching the virus and are overwhelming the healthcare system (whereas vaccinated people have resistance and much better outcomes).

It is a lot of vaccinated people. Maybe my little anecdotal situation is an outlier. But I cannot describe how many people I know dealing with this go around compared to the entire ordeal. And most circumstances have a vaccinated association if not only vaccinated involved. In fact one was a rehab facility in Brevard where a breakout happened. 18 tested positive. 16 vaccinated. There is little doubt the vaccinated are a big part of the spread right now. Kids as well with this variant it appears. So that is a group that is probably largely unvaccinated. Though I know of a camp breakout where a teenager was deemed patient zero as they were symptomatic...and vaccinated. Now can we say for sure this teenager was patient zero. I don't think so but the common thought is they likely were. The good news is that the kids get better quickly the vast majority of the time.

It is fairly obvious that the vaccinated are clearly getting Covid right now. Shoot...everyone is worried about Tom Brady as he was just with Mike Vrabel who tested positive and is vaccinated. I am curious to see if we find out if Brady is vaccinated as he has held his hand tight (which I respect as this thing is beyond political)...:)

We all know that Delta has breakthrough cases and spreads via vaccinated people.

To this point, if everybody were vaccinated the virus would still spread and some would get sick but it would probably comparable to a flu (or a bad flu). Still a problem but a manageable one.

Of course who knows what future variants will bring. But to date the vaccine, in all cases

    - decreases chance of infection
    - decreases serious illness and death
    - decrease likelihood and duration of spread.

Nobody is asserting that vaccines are 100% effective.

Possible. Certainly I think that we would find a lot of the unvaccinated should have gotten the vaccine as a majority of the time I see a picture or hear a story of someone having a rough time with Covid. They are overweight/or worse obese. Certainly not every situation. And certainly the vaccine would not guarantee a better outcome. But that is the risk/benefit that people chose.

No. They are not the problem.

The good news is Florida's 7 day average is down just over 28% since the 16th. Hope it continues. That said. Based on UK we will plateau on the way down and level off at a higher level than we were at before delta took off.

If you think that the vaccinated are overwhelming the hospitals then you have completely detached yourself from the reality of the current situation.

That's good to know. Perhaps that will make the hospitalized and relatives of the dead feel better.
